I think that SOS is just waiting for JGM to fill out and our defence is set.

I suspect so too, but we still need more depth at that spot. Injuries etc always come into calculations.

I would call this "balanced", not "begging":-

It will probably be our last chance to draft an All Australian for several years. Does the issue boil down to your view of ruckmen? If you think (as I do) that they are over-rated because their position makes them injury prone which eventually negates many of the attributes that you see in them as juniors, then you pick Cotchin. If you think that finding a real top shelf one is just too hard, and that top shelf ruckmen are worth it, then this opportunity is too good to miss (despite how good Cotch is) and you will probably take Kreuzer.

There is a lot to the decision but your view of ruckmen is obviously central.

plus rowe has another couple of years, white is 28 and a handy back up and we have jaksch as well developing. everitts best and most consistent football was a a defender in sydney. they will all be good in better sides. add weitering plowman & g-mac thats a solid group on a list. an adams type in the next draft would be great. at the moment i think we are okay. no matter which way i look at it we needs lots of quality mids

I suspect that this might be the case. The issue is where do we get the picks from, and who do we have to give up to get those picks?

If it means picking up players in the draft who should be rookies then a few might survive.

Many a person was adamant that we would only be making around 7-8 changes to our list last year and look what happened, a massive cleanout that has injected some much needed new life into our club. It will be 12-15 changes again this year, that is the sad reality of where we are coming from.

Walker, White, Jamison, Dick, Tutt, Jaksch, Whiley, Jones, Wood, Rowe, Gowers, Foster, Armfield, Smith, Sheehan, Viojo-Rainbow & Simpson are all in the mix to be delisted or retire this year or next. There is also the ongoing discussion of how Gibbs, Everitt, Tuohy, Casboult & Graham could be trade options.

The game against North Melbourne gave us a reality check as to how far away we are from the upper echelons of the league. Hanging on to fringe dwellers and non-performing B-Graders isn't going to help us bridge that massive gulf.
