Brett Anderson on "trading places" Sen1116 said today that talk he is hearing from GWS is that Tomlinson looks pretty likely to be in Navy next year and also Marchbank favored to be heading in the same direction .
What we do know is that the club has stated our first pick is off the table , so ...
Interesting times ahead .

Two second rounders from us for three GWS players would be it. Especially considering they will be around pick 20. More than enough

Yep agreed, if the talk that pick 4 or 5 is off the table is accurate and Blues tend to stick to that.
The only other way is second rounders. I cannot see a player good enough that we would part with, though Cas could be the one to get the extra second rounder.
But then I don't really understand the whole points thing. We already have 2 3rd rounders, so could we not trade in more 3rd rounders and get enough points that way then trade to GWS (assuming 4 3rd rounders is enough points)?

Is it off the table for swapping for two later first round picks?

Only Silvagni and the inner sanctum would know at this stage .
Reading the recent article that interviewed Silvagni , that scenario definitely didn't sound like it was out of the question ...
Nothing should be out of the question this year.

It was somewhat easier to say that pick #1 was untouchable last year, but that's not the case today.

Who knows what may be around our selection? Much too early to tell.

I think it would be pretty shrewd trading if we could do this. In this scenario, we should be able to satisfy both GWS and Gold Coast, whilst retaining our second round pick which should still see us pick up a pretty good player.

for no other reason than a gut feel i reckon we will get hoskin-elliott tomlinson & marchbank. trade for 2 second rounders and maybe get something back and we will have to cover some salary.

It would be and I know that we may want the icing on the cake now, but we need to build the cake first.
We'll have at least another 5 players that have had senior experience come to our club this year.........maybe even more.
Once we know what we've got, we can then look at getting the icing on the cake in subsequent years.

We targeted WHE last year and missed out.
He is on serious money. Money that may not fit with what we're needing to do.

Are they really icing though Harks?
Marchbank and Tomlinson are largely unproven at AFL level, and Prestia is coming off a year of being injured.
They'll help no doubt, but if we do land these guys they will very much form part of the rebuilding of our list.
Will certainly make our defence look very good with Weitering, Plowman and Marchbank.

Will likely be a small crumbing forward in TheSheik s line up
I like Stengle from SA. We really could do with a good small forward that can play closer to goal.

In all seriousness, this is a specialist role that we should be looking to address, prior to Betts we didn't have much in that are and naturally after he left it has been very hard to find another.

we may well give gallucci another year. recruited for this reason but simply hasnt played. another year as a rookie would be fair enough

I meant Hoskin-Elliot.

I feel he's on too much money for us right now.
A missing piece of the puzzle then fine, but our puzzle has too many pieces missing right now.
