Harsh on Coon-in-ham given he was one of the only ones who received a positive report card from the VFL coach:

David was much improved with his offensive running patterns and was lively around stoppages. He’s getting closer to stringing four quarters together and continues to build fitness after an interrupted year with injury.

They won't do that for a player, who if right, could be the best mid in the comp.

I would try our 1st(#4) and Sydneys 1st(#16) and Everitt for JOM and Melbournes 1st(#9). We may have to throw in 2017 2nd rounder too. That is if he is right. Hopefully we get a better Doctor to do his medical that whoever did Daisys. And We listen to the report too. If you look ay Bourgoyne, who I rated in the top 10 mids when he was traded, Port got #8 & #9, so the deal I put probably evens out similar. Bourgoyne had more runs on the board, but was 5 years older.
If he was 5 years older we would get him as a Free Agent.

IMO the trade value of players has declined recently due to Free Agency.

So don't think it is realistic to compare to Burgoyne.

What are peoples thoughts on Ellis Yolman? Turns 24 at the start of next year and can not get a game, despite every week smashing it in the seconds. He is I think under contract until the end of 2017. Surely wouldn't cost anything more than a 3rd round selection.
I recall he recently signed a new contract with Crows.

Door shouldn't need opening...Army can still contribute.

Ran down Isaac Smith in the weekend. Can still motor.
Good to see we agree.

As far as Crouch/Mitchell/Jaeger/Prestia goes ar most the club needs to pick one and commit to recruiting them. Jaeger is too risky with the knee for where our list is at currently I would imagine.

Focus on the draft, if this year has shown anything the offield/coaching/club culture was the biggest killer for us and we have addressed that.

A lot of talk of Prestia, Omera, Mitchell, Crouch but in all honesty I think they are all a year early for us and would want a little too much money.
Any of these midfielders would be an exception addition to the team and we’ll have plenty of space to maneuver. Walks and Jamo retired, possible delistings say 4 or 5 and maybe a few trades, there will a large list revision.
Its still speculation but if JOM were to reach his heights, a risk I know he could well be one of the very best midfielders in the competition.
The Baggers need skilled onballers, creative playmakers that can turn a game.

Gibbs a pick after 15. Seriously?

We sure do devalue our own.
Taking the emotion out of it, can you take a look at the ladder and tell me which club would part with their pick for Gibbs? Maybe Port giving up pick 10? I don't know if they would do that trade... He is 28 next year and they could prob get him as a free agent.

I'm saying I wouldn't lose him for anything higher than 15 and I can't see the trade happening looking at the ladder now. With free agency now you can get players cheap and don't need to sell the farm to make it happen.

No emotion attached at all. :)

Any club vying for a Premiership would be happy to take Gibbs off our hands for a pick #15........Hawthorn, Sydney, Adelaide, Geelong........

Do you think any of these clubs would sooner a Daniel Rioli, Jarrod Garlett, Zak Jones, Taylor Garner, Brandon Ellis......and so on and on?

You have to look at names and not numbers and then it makes sense.

Gibbs is signed until 2083, free agency not a factor.

Adelaide look a class mid away from flag contention.

Adelaide the other one I was thinking at pick 14 but Don Pyke has them playing some very well organised footy which makes them less reliant on a big name mid. They've arguably improved with the loss of Danger! I was thinking they would prob prefer a big defender or a back up to Sam Jacobs so again not sure they would do the trade.

Dig what you're saying man... but Crows are close, sneaky close, and their list is not time critical like the Roos. They'd pay plenty for 3-4 years of prime Bryce.

If Lids is worthy of a late first round pick according to Pelchen, then Tuohy would also be worthy of a late first round pick. And Cas would probably be worthy of an early second round pick.

Geez Pelchen lives in a dream world doesn't he.

I can't believe how giving up our first rounders for the next 2 years is going to help us build a premiership winning side.

Marchbank has been injury prone already and we have NOT had trouble with KPFs. He is not a huge priority for us to be giving up our first rounder.

JOM is a massive risk. To give up our second this year and our first next year (In what is rated to be an elite draft at the top end) is just stupid. If we judge it based on what JOM is capable of, then it could be worth it but with his knee issues it's too much of a risk.

I would definitely steer clear from giving away our first two picks this year and next year's first LOL we'll practically be absent from the drafts.
I hear you but...

Melbourne went on the youth train, by that I mean only take picks in the draft which built a list with 15 players under 21 in there starting side for 2 years. That built a losing culture...

We are not about that. We have to find the 21-23 year olds that will take our youngsters with them, a balanced listed age wise will create culture and a winning feeling.

Is there an O'Meara in this draft, or a weitering or even a Parish????

No.

That's 3 picks done so what's available after that.

Like a said, IF he passes the medical with flying colors, we have a once in a generation player, full stop...
