Sheehan started really well in 2014, but hasn't fired a shot since. He'll be lucky to hang on.
Exactly. Had some potential. No doubt. Barely kicked a footy in anger in years though. Unless he is tearing up the track later this year, I see no reason to keep him on.

Hey, he may well be the first we want out the door but you have to reason with that notion and not just run it off as a matter of course because he's been injured. I'm just qualifying his ability on what I saw over two years and not just a couple of VFL games this year.

Ahhhh...............this isn't going to work. Never mind. Carry on.

You have an obsession with sheehan. No way he gets 2 years IMO. Absolutely no runs on the board, and is no spring chicken.

Delist. Re-rookie at best.
There are many players who have a bad run with injuries and turn things around after they get over them. The most important thing is if they can play AFL, and Sheehan, for me, has shown that. So I think pick 80+ is worth the gamble for a player with his abilities.

Keep them all on the list then whats he played 4 games in 2014 and be going into his 5th season next year if kept on . All different opinions i suppose but i think thats more than long enough and i think its debatable now that hes better than any of the would be delistings to come . But if he stays on good luck to him .

What's the harm in keeping Sheehan on the list? It's not like he's keeping a whole bunch of world-beaters out of the team. There's plenty of people ahead of him to go, I reckon.
The against column is longer than the for column imo. Got himself injured at a bad time, good luck to Gus though

The Good Menzel has had 4 knee recos and Geelong stood by him.

I like what I've seen of Sheehan, and I'd love to see him get a proper (injury free) run at it next year.

The AFL came out and said in relation to Franklin at the Swans that even if he retires then the Swans have to include all the money in their cap. Is this a case of just making shit up due to sour grapes or will they make all clubs do this for all players? Im not sure how it's possible to have one set of rules for some but not others.
Of course you can have different sets of rules, one is for contracts that are a result of free agency, free agency has all sort of ramifications from compensation to the possibility to match restricted offers etc.

Say; if you offer a contract to lire a free agent; that contract in full must be paid and accounted for, if it is a standard contract offered to a player at their club, it can be waived due to legitimate retirement from injury.

So some talk about Gary Rohan being possibly on the trade table.
If all this Touhy talk is on the money, would we do a straight swap; Touhy for Rohan.?
And on another tangent, would Nathan Vardy be a possible target.
I know he's been injury prone, but he may come good, and he has genuine talent

The Good Menzel kicked 5 goals in his 8th game in a Semi-final on the MCG and was then carving up a Preliminary Final when his knee went. Could have been anything, and still is a gun.

Sheehan has looked okay at times. I quite like him. But he is 26? and still a project type.

He may stay, but would be right on the edge i reckon. Chances are he won't make it through, although his chances may have been helped by Walker and Jamison walking early.

The "experts" are saying it will cost 2 x first round or close to this to do a deal to get JOM.
I stand by what I said before; he's spent two years off the ground. He's not played a game back yet.

I don't care HOW talented he is; he could be the second coming, but there's absolutely zero way we should pay two first round selections for him. If he thinks he's going to get 750-800, good luck to him; the only way that happens is if four/five clubs get into a genuine bidding war for his services, and even then he'd be lucky. I'd like him in blue, but not for 750, and definitely not for two first round selections.

It sounds to me like the experts are being fed information by his player agent, and they're just publishing shit to validate their existences.

I really like Rohan, has that little bit of x-factor in his game.

The downside for us is that he is 25yo, has had a few too many injuries (71 games in 7-years) and this year is averaging only 10 disposals per game.

... and, honestly, is a bit of a seagull. Loves the loose ball, doesn't like the hard stuff at all.

I think I like what I've seen of Sheehan, but I don't really think I've seen enough to make an informed opinion.

As I recall he had a nice left foot, had decent evasive skills and had a bit of grunt about him. Certainly potential is there.

Mind you his running and bouncing the ball skills needed a bit of work!

But I'm really ambivalent about whether we keep him or not. Love for him to work out but not sure I've seen enough to miss him if he's moved on ...

Surprised Sam Reid from Sydney hasn't been mentioned.

With our need for a forward, Sydney needing cap space, Reid being a free agent next season, I think he would be a great get.

Reid for Tuohy - thoughts?
