We need quality talls at both ends of the ground. Having an early look at this years draft it looks like another midfielders draft. We may have to look at other clubs if we want to address our KP stocks.

I'll be watching GWS very closely this year - we know we're right into Tomlinson, and there has been some talk we're looking at bringing Marchbank across as well.

I agree, but I think we need at least another quality young key forward and back to partner up with Weitering and McKay.

Adding a 100game chf and a 150 game chb would help our spine and talent distribution.

I only see 4 players on our list who "potentially" get us a 1st rounder (Casboult/Kreuzer/Gibbs/Murph). There aren't even many potential second round picks, to possibly swap for an upgrade.

It will be interesting to see what moves, if any, are done.

I agree and I think it's going to come down to one or two trades that net a second rounder and some pick swapping with teams who need academy or father/son points. My bet is we will go into the draft with our first pick, maybe one in the teens and a couple of second rounders. Should be pretty good to pick up some midfielders with.

Dare say we'd have to come up with a Collingwood style trade where we'd need to offer up a couple of first rounders for them. GWS won't let them go cheaply. Actually Marchbank may be out of contract at the end of the year so that could work in our favour.

I'd say that's way short of getting it done BM

Look it's fair value on talent if we're getting something back the other way (late 2nd or early 3rd rounder, assuming we're trading off a top 5 pick), but Tomlinson is essentially a replacement for Walker, one who probably isn't as good at ground level, while Marchbank is only a chance to develop into a KPD; he's got another 5 kilos to put on his frame (assuming it doesn't wear him down).

As good an athlete as Tomlinson is, his type of player is honestly a dime a dozen, and he really hasn't warranted his draft pick value despite getting regular games for GWS. Marchbank has the potential for more size as well, and perhaps he will establish himself more this year, but I don't see it with him either.

I'd probably look to secure one via a pick downgrade, rather than both of them and move out of the first round.

I wouldn't do that trade personally, think our first pick (likely to be a top 3 pick) is too much to give up for a top heavy draft

Prefer to concentrate on Tomlinson, would try and trade our second rounder and a fringe player or flip flop of later picks, I just don't think giving up a top 3 pick for a 2 for 1 deal is a good move for us.
