Please Carlton do not get Pickett from GWS. Look at his inside player rating http://www.aflplayerratings.com.au/Ratings/Player/118437/Jarrod-PICKETT can't even get 20 touches in NEAFL where a lot of Afl players can get 50+ touches. Also the fact they mention he is finding out what it takes to be an Afl footballer scares me.
Jesus, talk about a hard marker and being overly harsh on what is basically a kid still. While you see the bad I see the good, things like his 2015 season,

Showed dash and creativity, 2 goals
Dangerous in space, 15 touches and 2 goals
Livewire at half forward, 4 goals
20 touches and 2 goals
10 touches and still 3 goals
Not big numbers, still 2 goals
Finished his opportunities, 3 goals
Lively at half forward/ wing, 4 goals
Lively on the outside, 18 touches 2 goals.

Sure, he had some quiet games mixed in with some good performances but he is still a kid, I wouldn't expect anything less than varied performances from a 19 year old. His 2016 season has been ruined through injury, it happens. Surely anyone with half a brain can see the promise he has. Well worth bringing him in and giving him an opportunity, I can see a future Eddie Betts type small forward in him if he gets fit and fulfills the talent he has which made him a number 4 draft pick.

I would give up pick 5 for reiwoldt. 4 to 5 good years left in him. Also, get harvey, marchbank, petrie and dal santo. Throw in green, barlow and George horlin smith then have a crack at a premiership next year. Why not!? We must do this now!!

Possible team.
Simpson marchbank plowman
Docherty weitering tuohy
Harvey Barlow Gibbs
Sos petrie c.curnow
Green reiwoldt sumner
Kreuzer Murphy cripps

Bench. Curnow. GHS. Bryne. McKay.

Tell me that team can't win a flag?

there are no other teams worthy
So we want to recruit the Bulldogs 10th best midfielder? Are we trying to build a team to try and win a premiership or just be competitive?
Koby Stevens never been a realistic priority option. Yeah, if he is available as a de-listed free agent we would look at him just like we looked at Gorringe and Wright as players to add to list last off season but he would not be anyone you would be looking at for anything other than depth player. If we did a trade with Dogs that had Stevens thrown in a steak knives with someone like Clay Smith would not say no to it. He would get games for sure as our midfield has virtually no depth after Cripps, Gibbs, Murphy and Ed Curnow. Thomas has been a bust for midfield and Graham has not come on as quickly as one would hope. We got Whiley below that and Kerridge was being used a bit for tagging experiments towards back end of our season. Stevens would be ahead of Kerridge and Thomas in rotations but behind Ed Ciurnow. Cuningham is the new guy to be developed. We certainly need a few ready to play mids though in this off season. Younger guys like Dumont and Hrovat you would want more than an older Stevens. Hopefully we find something better than all of them for the right price.

I'd like to get him across, but he certainly shouldnt be a valuable trade commodity in our eyes. Like he shouldnt bump up the Marchbank trade very high. If they through him in with Marchbank for a couple of 2nds i'd take it, but i'm not offering pick #5.

There's no reason why they can't take #23 for Marchbank, Stewart and Pickett IMO.
I think a pretty good reason is that they would rate Marchbank more than that on his own, which would be hard to argue isn't fair enough, even without the other two. They rate him very highly I believe.

The only thing that might be working in our favour is the tweaking of the academy rules and their further need to created space on their list for said academy players. If we got those 3 for 23 I think we have done a bit of theivery. Wait and see I guess.

It would be nice to see us go hard at the draft again however, very keen to see what SOS can come up with. Think/hope he looks to add another mid first round pick to our selections at least.

koby stevens dropped for the match vs west coast behind dunkley, mclean and clay smith with mitch wallis to return next year should give him a pretty clear indication of where he sits in their plans going forward. reckon we need to make a play for him.
Apparently he's already agreed to a deal with *FC.

Project Keep Pick #5

Trade #1 -- Zach Tuohy to North for their 2017 first round pick

Trade #2 (a modification to the rumor to make it more likely in my eyes) -- Andrejs Everitt + Nick Graham + Bulldog's 3rd (pick 48, 302 points) to Gold Coast for Port Adelaide's 2nd round pick (pick #27 - 703 points). It rates Everitt and Graham as worth 401 points (pick 42)

Trade #3 -- North's 2017 1st round pick + pick 23 (815) + pick 27 (703) + pick 41 (412) (1930 points in 2016) to GWS for pick 15 (1112) + Marchbank + Pickett + Stewart.

If North finish eighth next year it values the GWS trio as a pick 3. This is high and North probably do slip out of the eight next year but I think we come out looking good overall;

Carlton draft picks after trading

5 -- Knightmare has Marshall as 5th best (McLuggage, Brodie, Perryman*, Petrevski-Seton, Marshall)
15 -- Knigthmare has Tarranto, Gallucci and Drew ranked 15-17
59 -- upgrade Ciaran Byrne
77 -- upgrade Ciaran Sheehan

If no other delistings take place:

Out: Tuohy, Everitt, Graham, Walker, Jamison, Foster, Dick (7)
In: Marchbank, Pickett, Stewart, 5, 15, Byrne, Sheehan (7)

Rookie draft: We have about three selections (Byrne and Sheehan being elevated and Wood's retirement)

Sounds good we need him traded to the blues with Marchbank who has had a shoulder recon this july/august which will only see him have a partial preseason....so this may lower the price tags definately and we can patch them up at carlton........this all adds up to depth and potential A grade players down the track,Obviously SOS will know the details and get what he can,i think there is more trade talent around at GWS than last year and we need to move on it because it is a bit of a one off opportunity.

Surely GWS would have some interest in Kreuzer?

They are competing for a flag the next 4+ years, Kreuzer is a physical ruckman that would be an ideal back up for the often injured mummy. Great to insurance for them.

Next years second and Kreuzer for Marchbank, Pickett, Stewart and Ahern.

Give them a great bidding pick next year and reduces their list spot by 3.

We keep pick 5 and the first rounder we are apparently getting for 2E

No way Tuohy is going to get us a first rounder. The above post suggesting North will give us their 2017 is even less realistic. They are looking to rebuild so you don't do they by giving a likely top 10 pick for a 27 year old solid half back flanker. If we trade him we would be looking at a pick in the my 20's at best which I would do if it helps us get a Tomlinson or Marchbank.

Giving 20 for Rowe a win for Brisbane? Are you kidding?
Would you trade pick 23 for a 28 year old battler?
I heard that Lions conceded most points ever this season - even more than Fitzroy in their darkest days.

They certainly need a big, competent full back with Merret now gone.

What they would be prepared to pay is an interesting question.

Out of contract this year IIRC, and the Doggies will have to be short a quid soon to keep all their players, though M.Boyd may pay a price on that front (too good to be giving it away at the end of his year mind you).
Another at his 3rd club if he moves on. Solid player and a midfielder as we're sorely missing in numbers.
The word on the Dogs board is that Stevens is asking for too much coin for his next contract and that Essendon have been in his ear.

id be disappointed if thats all that happened. i expect a lot more activity and list changes than the above
