Happy for Zac to go to North.

Denham saying that North have tabled a large offer and 4 years. We cannot match that, nor should we.
I think we should match if NM don't come up with a suitable trade. Not prepared to lose Zac for some middling second round pick over 100K p.a and an extra year.

If we're looking to move on 12-15, I'd be asking for the other McKay and a swap our our third and their second.

If North really want him, they'll have to give us something good. From our point of view, we have to get a first rounder out of them for it to be worth it.

Tuohy + 41 for 11 rates Tuohy around pick 20.
No they don't. If we don't match that contract and he wants it he will just walk out on us. They will then have the power. That entire point scheme is a crock of $hit so I'm not even going to comment anymore on that.

You wouldn't think it would come to that but if Zac decides to walk then he has to ensure that no club before North can grab him in the PSD - including Carlton.

The Australian today suggest Touhy to north on a four year deal.

Also suggests if Carlton don't put pick 5 on the table, they will be out of the race for Marchbank.

I don't mind the talk regarding some of the mids we may be looking at - CEY, Grigg, Hrovat even Lyons.

They all fit the age profile, would get more opportunities with us and would all serve a purpose. If we could turn our two 3rd rounders into CEY and Hrovat I'd be very happy.

Sydney might. :)

Why? WE have salary cap room, Zac has been a very good servant of CFC, why do we not look after him?
Looking after him would be encouraging him to take the better offer, no?

If Zach has a 4 year offer on the table from another club, it would be silly for us to match it.

It would be equally silly for North to offer their 2nd round pick because clearly that won't get it done nor is it an accurate representation of where they rate him.

That seems a lot considering we seem to have fewer obvious players with 'value' on our list than last year.
We've lost: Walker, Jamison, Wood, Smith, Dick, Foster = 6

We could yet lose: Whiley, DVR, Sheehan, Gower & Tutt = 5

We could trade: Tuohy, Graham, Everitt just for starters = 3

That's 14 players without blinking

We wouldn't but otherwise we would offer I'm that contract and he could stay. He would go in the ND if he thought another team were going to pick him and they could take him with 29. Gold Coast would be about the only worry. Also 29 is better for us then nothing it'll never happen.

i seem to remember last year's trading of draft picks went in hand with the message (from us mug punters anyway) of the weaker draft that year. so perhaps using last year's pick numbers isn't an accurate exercise, maybe a case of stronger draft, teams happier to give + take lesser picks for players.

I am OK with that. Do not think Marchbank is worth pick 5 and do not think we should trade it based on the players likely to be available at that pick.
We did this before in giving up pick #7 and missed the opportunity to draft 2mPeter. Would hate for history to repeat and see us miss a sliding Brodie or Ainsworth, Marshall, etc. If we give up pick #5 are we really rebuilding?

^ Tuohy in some type of deal for Ben McKay and Mitchell Hibberd?!?!

McKay boys in the spine. Hibberd to play alongside Crippa. Noice!

Re Jack Reiwoldt - 5 could get it done I reckon if he wanted out. Two high 1sts and Lennon and ??? may net them both Prestia and O'Meara. Ive heard GCS are in the market for a top player(s). Someone(s) who wants to do an Ablett and get huge coin from the AFL fund and must be from a middle of the road team. Ive heard Swallow and Zeibell from North, but can't guarantee. North looking at getting younger very quickly via draft. Window closed.

Back to Jack, I've heard Jack and the exulted one (Martin) really don't get along. (Cotchin not a fan of Martin either-FWIW)

Would you prefer Tuohy + 23 for 11 + Norths 2017 second rounder?
I think it will likely involve our second rounder in 2016 or 2017, and perhaps another swap of picks somewhere else. Could even be a three way trade if we have something that interests GWS re: Marchbank (ie - they may end up accepting your second rounder this year and our 2017 second rounder).

"4 year offer" and "Prime Target" is what sticks out for me. Maybe pick 11 may be in play here. We will more than likely have to add something to it but I'm sure SOS will be working hard on this one...

Pick 5 for Marchbank is a joke.....the kid originally goes Pick 6 and has had 2 years of injury and little form

he has gone down in value NOT up ....thank God SOS is in charge....if we have to pass then we will pass...BUT WE WON'T PAY OVERS
