Jesus, talk about a hard marker and being overly harsh on what is basically a kid still. While you see the bad I see the good, things like his 2015 season,

Showed dash and creativity, 2 goals
Dangerous in space, 15 touches and 2 goals
Livewire at half forward, 4 goals
20 touches and 2 goals
10 touches and still 3 goals
Not big numbers, still 2 goals
Finished his opportunities, 3 goals
Lively at half forward/ wing, 4 goals
Lively on the outside, 18 touches 2 goals.

Sure, he had some quiet games mixed in with some good performances but he is still a kid, I wouldn't expect anything less than varied performances from a 19 year old. His 2016 season has been ruined through injury, it happens. Surely anyone with half a brain can see the promise he has. Well worth bringing him in and giving him an opportunity, I can see a future Eddie Betts type small forward in him if he gets fit and fulfills the talent he has which made him a number 4 draft pick.
C'mon Brissy,

He kicks goals!! Carlton ain't got time for that!

We've lost: Walker, Jamison, Wood, Smith, Dick, Foster = 6

We could yet lose: Whiley, DVR, Sheehan, Gower & Tutt = 5

We could trade: Tuohy, Graham, Everitt just for starters = 3

That's 14 players without blinking
plus we can retire jones & thomas and trade boekhurst & kruezer. that's 18. :p

Absolutely no reason to give up pick 5 for Marchbank, we may as well just take it to the draft and get a kid without the injury concerns. Would happily offer a future second if they don't want 23 this year, but would then expect someone like Stewart to be included.

11 definitely seems too high for Tuohy, but we might be able to work something like 11 + 29 for Tuohy and 23 if they're as keen as the media are implying. Throw in Whiley if they want some extra value to make it look like a win for them.

No arguments there, Harks. Its the other side of the equation I'm curious about - how do we balance those outgoings with incomings?

I think it will likely involve our second rounder in 2016 or 2017, and perhaps another swap of picks somewhere else. Could even be a three way trade if we have something that interests GWS re: Marchbank (ie - they may end up accepting your second rounder this year and our 2017 second rounder).
Thanks, but I think that is seriously underrating Tuohy.
Also may be impacted by Swallow being traded to GCS giving you guys a bit more to play with.
Would you give up one of Durdin, Dumont or McKay?

The talk of "uniting the brothers" and trading in Ben McKay should stop, firstly, Ben isn't as good as Harry and secondly, they WANTED to be apart, theyve been together for 18 years, probably want some space.

I feel this will turn into a Goddard to Carlton, Gibbs to Adelaide style rhetoric that should be cut off at the stem NOW haha

No way they give up McKay after only 12 months.

Dumont seems to have cemented a spot in their seniors, don't think he'd be going anywhere.

Durdin could be gettable, has apparently been moved around a bit (positionally) and is yet to get a run in the seniors. Depends whether the retirement of Firito opens up a spot for him.

Not going to happen but what would we expect for Harry McKay if we traded him now?
Different scenario entirely. MB has been on their list for two years, is out of contract, and has requested a trade. If he nominates Carlton, that's another point in our favour.

What would we expect for Boekhorst or DVR? 19 and 28 respectively? More likely 30-odd and 40-odd.

If McKay did a shoulder during preseason, then an ankle mid-year, then requested a trade to GWS, we'd be lucky to walk away with a second-rounder.

Yeah I agree, I think Tuohy's value probably sits somewhere between our first and second which means someone is going to be disappointed.

Wouldn't feel comfortable trading any of those guys - Dumont is an established best 22 and probably our most promising midfielder, while Durdin and McKay are our last two first round selections and were both drafted as longer term KP prospects. I'd be surprised if we traded either but you never know.

Marchbank for pick 5 is not happening unless we get more.

Besides look at the clubs circling
Collingwood - can't trade 1st rd - out
Essendon - Pick 1 out. can trade 1st next yr but only if not included in an omera deal
St Kilda - Threat is they trade pick 10 or next 1 st but that will be in play for steele as well

touhy for north 1st will only happen if we add 2nd rd or a player.
offering a 4 yr deal with extra coin tells me north is desperate for a half back

Mate they have just had a year apart and they knew nobody was going to draft them both in the first round so what else could they say to the media. If Ben had of made it through to pick #19 I wonder if SOS would have grabbed him?

Not sure he's rated there. McKay already shown more than him.
