How do you think we did in the 2016 trade, FA and draft periods? (Answer after they've happened)

By my reckoning, there's 88 free senior spots to be filled.

Might see a few DFA's, and the draft order will have just under 100 picks (allowing for the extras given to clubs that future traded).

(This has assumed uncontracted players now will stay with club)

Melbourne can't take a DFA.

In the Monfries committment article, Port said they have 2 rookie spots, but retained 3. Can read into that, that they will go with 39 & 5 rookies next season.

Makes sense, given what we know of their salary cap situation. Might have been different if they'd found a buyer for Hartlett.

Means we now have pick 107 in the draft

Not once they remove the pick numbers for clubs without space for them.

Right now, there's 88 list spots available across the league. There's 13 picks to be removed before that one.

So that's the mighty pick 88 instead of the mediocre pick 107. Got it. ;)

Can anyone confirm all of our list changes once and for all so we know how many picks we will take into the draft and rookie draft?

Last time I looked at the rules we were permitted to have 6 category A rookies, and we currently only have 2 - Beech and Hunter.
Maximum of 4 if you have a full senior list (40 players)
Maximum of 5 if you only have 39 on the senior list.
Maximum of 6 if you only have 38 on the senior list.

Hawks seemed happy to start at 88 ;)

I'm sure Crows supporters would be ok with it if we'd traded in O'Meara and Mitchell in our off season too.

And what do you want the Hawks to say, "Yeah, it sure does suck to be left with the dregs of the draft."

No, our record for a live pick is 116 for Michael Gooden in the 1992 draft
Now there's a household name. God how I miss him

Footnote: Was being facetious. Didn't realize it was actually Michael Godden, the WWT coach. He is a semi-household name
