It took me a while to catch on. The tipping point was Michael Braun brought on for special comments on 6PR for the recent derby. His prematch analysis was just "Freo don't score enough" over and over again, and then kept referring to Eagles as "we". To be fair, Hasleby wasn't much better as the other "expert" analyst.

Mike Sheehan, a Victorian dinosaur who resents the AFL.
He always slammed the fact that the bankrupt VFL had to be rescued by exorbitant licence fees issued to interstate clubs. He refuses to acknowledge the VFL would have died had it not expanded to an Australia wide competition .
He refuses to leave Melbourne and is notorious for writing on interstate games as if he actually attended games in other states.
That speaks volumes for a show that has declined since he left and perfectly illustrates the Victorian bias.
There was a period last year when Robbo was absent from AFL360 and Sheahan stood in for him; I have to admit the show was better for it, sadly.

I am enjoying my personal boycott of these shows now but struggling to rationalize it seeing as I pay handsomely for it.

Two weeks ago, Kim Hagdorn said on 882 that Ross Lyon and Fremantle know that this is not their year and have decided to focus on next year instead.

He says that Fremantle will have Cale Hooker and Cam McCarthy next year and will be aggressively trading for Jesse Hogan as well.

This was the reason that they decided to extend Ross Lyon's contract now rather than later so that he can coach this year without any pressure.

By the way we played on Sunday, I'm starting to get the "Haggers Horn."

Why would you risk the best player in the country then? If this year was pointless, why risk Nat Fyfe to end up just missing more of next season at worse and playing worse at best? That's just bizarre. It goes against the idea.

I think I like RTB more when we're losing, he was quite open and expansive in that interview and, as he said, he's invigorated. He's a bit of a grump when we're winning.

Couldn't agree more. Its the sign that the pressure has gone off him a bit much like some of us have reported feeling much more relaxed. Imagine what we're feeling 100 x for his pressure levels. The guy has basically been in premiership mode for 10 years.
I find it encouraging he's embracing challenge, its a good indicator for his emotional intelligence. He finally gets to relax and reinvent himself.

I think the next few months will be interesting to see what path the club is going to take in regards to his game plan, list development etc. Maybe this is the year they needed to regroup and get a fresh perspective on things. Who knows? Realistically the only thing I can do as a supporter and member is sit back and hop on the rollercoaster ride that is supporting Freo. Sort of glad that my life isn't defined by my football club though

I thought it was a poor read. It raises a valid point that we struggle to attract in-demand talent (which we have known for years), but after that none of it was insightful or even accurate.

From their list our realistic options are a bloke who is out of the system for mental health issues (McCarthy) or a bloke who is out of the system for drugs - and hasn't played much AFL for a few years (Pears).

So much this Honestly I cannot shake the sensation that there are some in the football media who are relishing our fall from grace this season. So many kicking us while we are down.
