Off the top of my head, I can think of four classic "Hill running shots at goal" that missed this season. Last couple of years, he might miss 1 in 5 of those, but it's the other way around at the moment. And then Walters missed 2 on the weekend that by his standards are sodas. Two of the purest kicks in our team just spraying them.

Walters missed more then two, had two out on the fulls as well that he would usually kick was baffling in a game where some of our other forwards were slotting them.


Also since this is the media thread does anyone know why the Dockertv youtube page has been abandoned for the past 3 months? I usually prefer the youtube player over the standard telstra one on the AFL websites, also sometimes the videos appear in weird out of date orders on the freo or afl site but youtube has an organise button to fix that, don't understand why we would abandon it when other clubs haven't.

Glad they posted this interview with Alex Pearce as I enjoyed it first time around and well worth the listen. Really mature kid. I hope his body holds up and he gets a good preseason under his belt as he is the KP we are crying out for down back. "Living down the line and kicking long, it just doesn't work".

Yeah, Barrett has always supported Ross Lyon, always believes that Ross has some master plan ahead. He may have some silly opinions about some of our players but then so does every commentator.

Now I almost feel bad for calling him a flog on twitter last week.

Makes some good points in that. Basically describing our season as a "tank with benefits"

Give this guy a 10 year $15 million contract......
..not serious..... but seriously Bondy lock him in for 10 years. Best young KPD in the comp and he's ours.

Love his attitude, that he wants the tough assignments. I hope we find a young forward soon that has that thought process, wants to be the difference.

His "Living down the line and kicking long, it just doesn't work" comment was interesting. With how often we've been doing it I had assumed it must be part of the plan. Thank god it's not, just have to wait for Ross to take back the reigns and beat it out of them.

The other one that drives me mad is the predictable short kick after a behind to a player in the back pocket which heightens the pressure of the opposition's press. That sends a signal to the oppo that they have us nervous and on the back foot.

Yep...think Sandi's presence is missed in this regard as during kickouts he'd be the main target to mark outside defensive 50 when we go long

So according to data Rds 1-7 Freo had the 2nd most difficult draw, rds 8 - 23 4th most difficult draw.

Barely a mention of Freo in the article itself...80% focus on how tough a draw Collingwood has...lol

I respect Champion Data but the way they have presented the rankings from round 1-7 are a bit misleading. It's just the ladder sorted on points differential, and not an accurate reflection of how hard their draw was really. Their analysis of round 8-23 is a little more useful because it is then takes those crude rankings to weight future games and because outliers can cancel each other out it gives a better sense (hence the numbers not varying as much in the secon table). To get a more accurate output they should have recursed throughout the season based on the points differential weighted by the ranking of the team they were playing each round. But the first analysis takes about 2 minutes to create in Excel and a proper recursive function would take a few hours to code.

Long story short though, our draw is easier after the Hawthorn game (Rd 9-16), and then gets harder again Rd 17-23.

You also don't really need sophisticated analysis tools to work out that North, WB and Sydney have harder draws in the second half whilst Hawks, WCE and GWS have easier draws relatively.
