Just turned on the channel 9 footy wa program with wood duck, Connelly and smurf.

They had Sam Collins on but I had missed his interview and it appears smurf had been doing some analysis on who might leave our list.

Was anyone watching and can they fill in all the blanks. Cheers.

I think you'd need to download the 9 app if you want to watch that episode. Try via this link. https://www.9now.com.au/footy-wa

Connolly and Watters discuss the list status of a few of the obvious candidates (e.g. Clarke, Deboer, Clancee, Barlow, Mayne) but there's nothing too analytical in their opinions. Mixed views that Clarke needs to move on for everyone's sake, Clancee retained for his kicking, and Mayne and Barlow kept on too IIRC but Cuddles was ranting and shouting during the segment so I didn't listen too closely.

Collins was asked a few questions in between indicating he aims to increase his contesting strength and disposal efficiency going forward.

Thanks, notice that I am immediately shown the most negative headline Ross admits Fyfe may leave if we don't get better sheez!

Doesn't give much away does old Ross, I'd say he knew exactly what he was saying

Not much he hadn't said before.
Didn't do enough high density running preseason.
Didn't teach the game plan changes well enough.First time for him as a coach players had some confusion under pressure. If you have to think about it 'it's too late'.
Leadership consultant Ray McLean heads up team and is very professional. There was only a very slight difference between Barra and Cleaver in the player vote.Fyfe is the next leader and is exerting himself around the club now.Loves the club and will be around to lead the club and will stay unless we really muck it up.Everyone needs to buy into the plan and it has to be articulated to all important club members.
Want as many draft picks as poss. won't sell the farm.
Pav has an MBA and is absolutely exception.
Does not think Eagles have been any better at attracting talent than us.Some of the big targets we went for we were always at long odds.
Expansion clubs have drained the talent pool and will be at the top for some time.
Club targetted Hale in particular.
Cam McCarthy's health is first and if he wants to play AFL again club will happily sit down with his manager and GWS.
I think I read 'And just watch us phark the campaigners over' between those lines.
Would have Hogan in his team.
Very close competition, everybodies IP is everywhere.
Pyke's been super as a first year coach.
Does not like the bye in rnd 23.
Hodge and Mitchell are extensions of Clarkson:assistant coaches on the field.People underestimate how fierce Hawthorn are when they need to be and are terrific with the ball in hand.
Thinks we would have made finals if we had Bennell up and running and didn't have all the injuries.
Our best 22 is certainly very competitive. We think it's possible for us to play finals again next year.
Atmosphere and climate behind closed doors and around the club environment is challenging and healthy.

relieved to hear this point coming from Ross, as all signs from the club before this had pointed to us being non competitive in the 3 year rebuild but at least we know the club realises we actually do have the talent to play finals. I was worried they were underrating our list a bit and were going to clear out players who really should stay.

Hoping this rebuild really just falls in line with our drafting that we have done the past few years anyway, probably will avoid any older players like gumbleton, Pearce, Sylvia etc and just draft for a couple years which i think is a good sign. We also know that we will look to attract young WA Ooc talent as well so hopefully the word "rebuild" just refers to us drafting and going after younger WA talent in the trades.

He did say it would be easy to load up on OOC talent, but they also want to draft as many kids as possible to look after the long term.

That makes me very happy.
