Ok. I didn't hang around long enough to pick who the story teller was. I want you to know that I felt dirty checking into a WCE podcast and only listened to the Farmer snippet you pointed out. Had to shower afterwards.

Just found this from other sources (No i wasn't listening to the eagles podcasts) but skip to 40.15 in to hear a story about Jeff Farmer in the London Exhibition match 10 years ago as he ended Lecras' career in defense before it had even started.

Also talks about how there were brawls every 5 minutes, I wish there was footage of this match, definitely seems like the "every 5 minutes" wasn't overstated seeing as Worsfold came into the Freo box.

I was at that game. Cant remember the brawls, mind you I'd had a few beers beforehand. I do remember the end of the game though. One pitch invader after another getting tackled by security guards before the guards just gave up from stopping people running on the ground, then as soon as the siren went the oval was packed with people. 5 minutes later all of the goalposts had been stolen! Then Belly doing the dance up on the players' balcony with the trophy Warney-style. Good times!

Seen a bit of RTB on Foxfooty's retro stuff that's on at the minute.
Seen enough previously to know he was a unit.
But have watched footage I've never seen before...very handy player...very tough and very talented!!

Has there ever been a bloke who loves the sound of his own voice more than Whateley? And Robbo usually looks like a vagrant that's been dragged off a park bench.

More importantly, I recall hearing a couple of pundits discussing Ross - possibly on Footy Classified a couple of years ago.

They were talking about RTB making one of his charges a better a player and one commented "Who hasn't Ross made a better player?"

As an aside, anyone who thinks Mick Barlow is dirty on Freo obviously didn't hear his comments about struggling to look RTB the eye when he knew that he wasn't going to get another contract. He credits Ross with having a huge influence on him as a player and a person. When you here Ross as training he is constantly educating the players and there are no shortcuts.

I remember him telling Tom Sheridan during a contested clearance drill "Tommy if you aren't going to chase you can go and run laps." Tommy chased the next time.

I wish we'd got hold of RTB earlier when Pav, McPharlin, Sandi & Johnson were 25-27 and arguably in their prime. It feels like much of our next generation of high end talent as it stands (Fyfe, Walters, Hills) are younger at this point but our KP's are not as proven as that above lot were when he took over so it's going to be interesting how RTB and the list responds this time around. Looking forward to it myself and watching them prove many of the pundits wrong.
