Vdubs I'll be over for the Crows game so it'd be great to put a face to the name if you made it down. I'll be at the LOTI before the match.
So looking forward to seeing you again SC, will Geelong cope with the two of us being in town? :p:D Looking like quite a big crowd going to LOTI before the game. My Crows friends + I are having dinner before the game + we need to leave LOTI to go to KP for the pregame event. Hope you will return to LOTI after the game? If Crows win, bring MrsSC after the game + she can gloat lol

About what? We're going to win! :D

Vdubs
So will I.

I was at LOTI before and after the game and had a few beers with Willo's mate and Nakia. I was there not long after 5pm.
But it is difficult to discover BF people if you do not already know them.
I remember being at Y&J's years ago (before I knew anyone) when people were going to meet there and there were Cats fans all over the place in groups. And descriptions of people are not that helpful when they are dressed up in the winter footy gear. The bald blokes are harder to find with beanies and caps on.

I found "Two Planks" last year simply by striking up a conversation with a Geelong supporter on his own.
I then dropped the words "Big Footy" and the code was understood.

Other than a PM where phone numbers are exchanged with regular meet up people, I am not sure how to find new BF'ers at meet ups when everyone is dressed in Geelong colors.
You're easily recognised wearing your yarmulke ;):D Also, the only guy in the pub who doesn't go to the bar to buy drinks, instead bludges drinks from his mates :p;):D;);):drunk:;) *jokes*

Thanks guys.
I will make it easy and wear my warmest Navy jacket which has Melbourne City stuff all over it.
And hopefully have a couple of BF blokes with me again.
I'll be the one dancing on either the tables or the bar or all of them  + if Billy Brownless is there, I'll be sitting on his lap, as usual :drunk:

You'll have to wear something South Australian
SC has a beard, even if he shaved that morning lol + he'll be the one trying to get me down from the tables or the bar, with rabbi (yarmulke wearing), who'll have pinched my credit card + will be buying the whole of LOTI drinks

If I can get a ticket for her, ill be bringing along a girl frm Brooklyn NY. Met her on my tour.
You can have my ticket, from my membership as I'm not using it, let me know + I'll give you my barcode. Do it immediately though, because it looks like Rd18 might be Bartel's 300th game.

I was just thinking, if I don't get rid of my mullet, will that suffice? :p
Hahahaha!!! Most of Corio has mullets, don't they? You'll look like someone from Geelong lol

I wish that I had a Kippah. I have actually searched the internet to see if I could buy a Navy and white hooped one but to no avail. You would think that the AFL would have Kippahs in club colors.

Bloody anti-semites.:D

Dad. Is that you?

That's no good Cataholic! Sounds like the deadly ManFlu to me! That's the problem with all of these horrible germs, especially a virus, they seem to return with a vengeance! The secret is that when you think you're better, you need another two days of total bed rest! Also, you must have early nights + lots of rest on weekends, while you sleep your body heals.

I thought Round 1 was bad, but Round 2 has been worse. And never had such a violent cough persist for so long.

But I've been doing just what you said, and am slowly bouncing back :thumbsu:

Also being the meet up thread, and with a game interstate (for most of us anyway) this weekend... we should organise a meet up at some point for a game like this weekends.

LOTI would work or anywhere with a big screen really...

Would be good fun to watch the game together while having a drink or meal IMO...

The meet ups we get to see people before the game and shoot the shit, it is an in interesting experience still as you see just how quiet some of the loudest voices on here really are and vice versa but also primarily get to just talk footy and see how other people see this and that.

Watching a game as a group would be great fun, just to see how people react during it.. to see how people read the game etc.. and more importantly to be able to celebrate or crack the shits together.

It probably isn't an overly smart idea, really limited by location instead of having people around who are all in the one spot to go to the game...

But just some food for thought that popped into my head

Yep, there are some problems. But if there was a Coalition of the Willing we could meet in a city pub like the old Preston hotel Sports bar (or whatever it is called these days). Or as you say LOTI, and have a few quiet ones and some tucker. I would probably be up for it even though I am not fond of beer.

Sounds like a good idea.

Can see it being no different to sitting with the geriatrics crowd in the Reg Hickey stand :p

I was thinking of it because often we are watching the game that is on at the time as well on the TV, and people are reacting/discussing/barracking.... so why not do it when we have a Perth game for example (clearly the idea also in my head due to the game we have this weekend)

Now if I lived in Geelong, I'd go to that over a pre game beer.

I think it is smart.

We (us on bf) would also need a Twitter feed seperate to the game day thread "the vibe from the pub" :)
