On an unrelated note, tried to buy a pet membership and they are "sold out".

So I can assume all our debt is paid off and they don't need my money? Good news!
I think the system was getting abused by people buying cheap pet memberships and then turning up at games disguised as a dog. It's a shame when a few bad apples ruin it for everyone else. My cat would have loved to attend a few games this year.

Even Geelong have more members than us now.

Who would have thought that possible not too many years ago?
Their success would have pulled in a heap of members. Lets see how they go when they have a run down the other end of the ladder.

What's happening there is similar to what the Eagles have experienced for a number of years. You basically need a membership to be guaranteed admission to their games.

No doubt the arrival of Dangerfield has also contributed, with many Cats' supporters thinking they will challenge for premiership success again. They seem to be forgetting that they don't have the depth of quality talent they had during their halcyon years.

I think we are seeing the long term impact of our demise in the membership figures. We have potentially lost a whole generation of supporters from around 2002 and the bottoming out (twice) experienced. Sadly, we have become a middle of the rung club with a supporter base that seems to have a touch of indifference about it :(

Everyone loves a winner, when we start our climb back up the ladder our membership numbers will sky rocket.

Look at Richmond, they have shown signs of promise over the last few years and their membership numbers have risen to reflect that.

Just got email saying my membership pack is being dispatched and should arrive in 10-14 working days. Now I live approx 25kms from the ground so transport must be extremely slow or big Lance Whitnall is personally running it out to me?

It's dispatched from Hong Kong.

I decided to put the membership card in the wallet on Wednesday night and couldn't find it. Despite an intensive search I had to concede it was probably recycled by mistake. On Thursday morning I called the membership number with my tale of woe. A big thanks to Matt who organised a replacement card and a general admission ticket for the Richmond game in a few minutes.

I signed up my twin niece and nephew as Baby Blues during the week! Can't wait to see my Collingwood supporting brother inlaws face when the membership packs arrive in the mail :D :D

I had to head for the Membership tent again today to pick up a ticket. It was just before the start of the game and I had to wait awhile to get my ticket. A lot of people were buying memberships. Just as well we got their money before the game.

Not going to be all melodramatic or anything, this concerns me a bit though.

I'd have thought disgruntled members over Mick's appointment, his time in charge, or Ratt's sacking, would be back on board now. Surely we have a fan base that can produce 55/60k...

I'm probably way off base but I wonder if this is a sign of a new generation? We've been no further than semi finals in 15 years, it's an age in footy speak, one which we've sunk to pretty low depths on two occasions now.

Kids are taught more than ever to think for themselves, to challenge things often. Maybe the kid following the parent/s choice of footy club is dying. And yeah, I'm really reaching here.

Comparing us to other clubs is the thing that bothers me. All at a time where we have a new coach, fresh ideas, the foundations of a good, modern game plan (finally), stability off field, media dept doing wonders...etc etc.

What's the go Carlton folk? There's exciting new talent but it's young, be patient and back us in, enjoy watching the young boys for now. Don't just jump on in the good times. Our club needs us.

Like I said, not melodramatic at all...

Yeah A leauge would definitely be hurting hurt so many Italian supporters, no one new to the game would have chosen us in the last 15 years.

Seriously soccer is the biggest zzzzzz
