Mid season round table discussion next on Fox Footy.

What are the odds, we end up being the ugly step sister sitting in the corner and completely forgotten.
After the Sando era of talking ourselves up after a win, only to fall flat on our face the following week, the way we are currently flying under the radar is enjoyable. IMO it helps keep complacency away.

That's all well and good with self promotion but hoping for a bit of industry promotion wouldn't hurt.

I'm not against Essendon getting the #1 pick. They've had draft sanctions already, and if you're not going to give them the pick they should get because of ladder position, what pick do you give them? None again?

I think they're cheating so and so's but they've been punished and are doing there time.

We need to let it go and move on.
Honestly.. If I were the AFL Commission, I would have banned them from the first 2 rounds of the draft until 2020.

Given that they haven't been banned.. their first round draft pick should at least be moved to the end of the first round.

Brad Johnson nailed it ' stop Seedsman and smith is key to stopping crows '

That's why we need Hendo to improve ( and persist a little with him) otherwise Hampton to come on ahead of time ( don't
think Menzel can play up ground this season)

That's why we need Brad crouch up and going , and continued improvement from Matt crouch and Sloane to stay on the park so we can rely less on scores from turnovers and do what we did against GWS and score highly from stoppages

If we can round out our game including team defence look out

If you are a paid as a coach to coach and you know you don't have those skills, you should definitely endeavour to work with/get information from people who do have the skills to assist you to getting the best out of one of your athletes who is struggling with a mental health issue. There are a lot of resources out there for coaches to have access to. Going oh I know nothing about it so too bad makes you a poor coach. These days in coaching not understanding or even seeking out information regarding mental health issues is doing all your athletes a disservice considering how prevalent it is now.
I'm sure the magic faraway tree will provide all the money needed to pay for the resource needed to cater for every imaginable situation

While I do agree that they both are our primary movers, I dont think it's that simple. Brown has really upped his attacking game this year, rat is a gun and laird is laird. All can provide significant drive from the back. If Smith was being held I'd run him on the ball and push rat into his role for periods.

Our game is good at the moment because we have midfield and forward options and can attack in many ways.

I disagree. It was the AFL who chose to use some creative language and punish Essendon for failures in "governance". This punishment had absolutely nothing to do with being dopers. It was a rather meek attempt to put the whole issue to bed and make the Bombers look less guilty by framing their crimes in a different way. It was truly something to behold when it all blew up in their faces when WADA chose to go after them. The fact the AFL tried so hard to control the message, made them look so much worse when the CAS verdict finally came down.

The AFL chose to be on the wrong side of history here. They had an opportunity to show some integrity and failed so badly, a foreign anti doping agency had step in to ensure accountability. How can we trust the AFL when their public image is a clearly a higher priority to them than running a clean competition?

I don't get this- who cares what others think of our team? Are we better if more people talk us up? Media flogging themselves over the current hot story means nothing.

We watch those shows to hear them talk about out team. To validate our own opinions of the team or to gain a brand new perspective of what we have to do to improve.

It's free advertising. The more the Crows are on tv, the more they are talked about nationwide, the more memberships they'll sell, their popularity will rise (especially interstate) and you might get some young kids growing up Crows supporters because they grew up watching the Crows get praised and talked about on tv. For example, Eddie Betts is single handedly responsible for converting a bunch of young Victorian kids into Crows supporters. Why? Because they keep replaying his goals on all the footy shows and talking about him and beaming it right into Victorian living rooms.

And this too:
