I wouldn't have thought many people, especially in a semi-amateur league, would have the requisite skills. Unless there happens to be someone at the club who works with depressed people in their real job. Sometimes it's just not possible to provide appropriately trained and supportive people to deal with every ailment that people are dealing with.
Depression is hardly a niche issue. Certainly a coach shouldn't have to be able to provide the same sort of psychological support that a trained medical professional can, but what we're talking about here is a very basic understanding of an extremely common ailment that lots of people have to deal with every day.

That isn't something just a coach should have to deal with, it's something every person should know how to approach. It's a very basic and necessary skillset if you're going to be in the business of dealing with people, as coaches are. And it doesn't take much training to identify possible depression and say okay this person is clearly going through some stuff maybe I should change my approach here.

Burying your head in the sand and saying oh it isn't my speciality is naive and potentially very harmful.

What's the thought on Youngs 1yr extension at the paps? Aren't 1yr deals usually reserved for dead man walking or old fart types not one of the few (semi) consistent players they have atm? You'd be a bit dark as a player if it's the clubs idea, and a little twitchy as a club if it's the players idea.

McDonalds have only been at San Bernardino since 1940. Port Adelaide has been playing at Alberton and Adelaide Oval since 1880.

A Schnitty at Alberton is way better than a McDonalds burger anyway.
But it's still worse than all the other schnitty's out there

You have any proof he took unders? Never heard or read anything about that. What I did hear is other clubs supposedly offering him 700k a year and Port cropping their dacks he might leave and quickly and crazily matching the offer. If he took unders I'm happy to be shown the proof and admit I'm wrong.
LOL

Here is an example of the way WH have bent over and literally f**ked a mate of mine in terms of odds being offered. I dont bet with them anymore but I have had SB do similar stunts with me in certain bets. Pay attention to the HH bets and the line bets being offered.

Yet they want a license to rob and pillage those that are not astute and long term losers unfortunately. My gripe is this, if you want a gambling license you must take the good with the bad or at least limit everyone the same way. ie Max. bet allowed for everyone is $x dollars.

Suns dropped Aaron Hall. Don't get it at all. He plays as a mid and does well, Eade throws him back to the forward line where he's always been inconsistent, he struggles to make an impact and they then drop him.

Didn't Jake Lever and Luke Brown sign one year extensions? An extension on top of a currently ongoing contract.

I'm not sure if Young's is an extension like their's or just a 1 year contract for next year.

He was out of contract next year I believe.

1 year may have been at his own insistence if a longer deal wasn't offered.

Seven news said they're talking about a longer deal...

Maybe he wants to pull a Dangerfield in 2018 or Port playing funny buggers with their salary cap?
I imagine it's nothing more than a "prove its not a fluke" contract. They might (and probably rightfully) be hesitant to give out a long term deal to someone who's had 3 good months of footy after 4 seasons of yo-yoing in and out of the side.

Eades an idiot, could never understand the love for him as a coach.

He was out of contract at the end of this year I thought - this keeps him for next year only. If they are talking about a longer contract as seven supposedly says, why not keep talking, why do this pissy one?

I don't give 2 shits either way, just seems odd to me but whateva keeps the masses happy I spose.

According to Brett Anderson, his deal was actually done late last year, they are just announcing it now because he is in good form.

Kane was on 5aa last week saying that Vic clubs were chasing him, he probably knew he was signed and wanted to make it look like Port were keeping a player in demand.

Correct mate. Of course I have had bad days. Shocking days, lost $$$$$$, punting ie good punting involves appreciating you will incur losses and they will hurt and hurt a lot. I keep records so I know exactly where I stand. I like on this board that we can talk about wins that are not posted, similarly I like talking about the losses I have had again where I havent posted.

But yes, its bs they do that. Do you recall the punter on the punting forum that was long term loser and lost a lot? Even asked to be banned from that forum? Its guys like that I feel for. Why dont the books limit him when he is losing and losing consistently and a lot. Of course they dont, its their money cow.

Haven't seen this much Club Teal follower action in this thread for weeks.

Nothing like a couple of wins against bottom 8 sides to get the scarf wavers up and about.
FFS, where the f**K where they when they lost all those games, this forum is devoid of them. Win one or two in a row and they become flag favorites, China is watching in their millions and the AFL world is in love with them. Then they migrate here.

I hate the Bulldogs and I hate the Power. However I hate the Cats as well. But when the Cats smashed the Power. I realised where my true hate is for.

Port all the way. Go Doggies. May you win by 1 pt.
