Could be a few more years, as I remember early last year Hinkley signed a contract extension to the end of 2018 - and I can't see Port having the funds to pay him out if they decide to sack him earlier.
I am fairly sure his contract extension is till end of 2017.
Might be wrong but fortunately for Port he has points in the bank and gets away with this season due to Ryder Monfries 'bad luck' and Dixon only working his way into the 'Port Adelaide way'
Next season scrutiny will come and will be lucky to last the season unless things change massively.

Port need to stem the tide of negativity or they will seriously fall back into the form that saw them the laughing stock of the AFL. The worst thing the club did in its desperate need for attention was embrace the Pro Port media calls as premiership favourites. The club, instead of keeping a lid on things basically started talking the talk and i believe as a result the players, namely the experienced players who were around for the 2014 season have seriously played like the premiership would just happen. The big problem is that the media have failed to hold them accountable. Rucci, Kane and Dom have both been far too forgiving whereas if the Crows had played like Port they would have been torn apart in the media. We were winning and Kane and Co were demanding we drop players. The best thing everyone in the Port camp can do is stop drinking the bath water.

Signed a fresh 4 year deal early last year. According to Kochie it wasn't an extension its a brand new contract that paid him at market value for his performances in 2013 and 2014. Still has two years to run.

This will be bad for us financially. If they go down the toilet and are abandoned by their "loyal supporters" again, we will be forced to top up the Adelaide oval retirement fund.

Have you got a media article to back that up?

Contracts are in place with the SMA. It's really up to the AFL and Port to look after their own side of things.

The Port PR machine will run with the injuries and WADA suspensions cost them this year. Dom is part of this machine and Kochie retweeting tonight shows the mindset of the club and the direction that this will take. Excuses.

Ken will keep his job as they can not afford to sack him.

Google it!. It's not a secret rumour. It's advertised as a 2 year contract extension but Kochie claimed he is paid his extension fee for 4 seasons. He is their until the end of 2018 unless he is sacked or quits.

Was an extension. Is contracted till 2018.

Interesting couple of paragraphs here.

In just two seasons, he has risen to be the club's second longest-serving head coach, behind Mark Williams, and has coached the club to five finals.

Not since Fos Williams was lured from West Adelaide in 1950 has a non-Port Adelaide person been handed the coveted role of heading up South Australia's oldest top-level football club.

Paragraph one says that Choco and then Ken have been the longest serving coaches at the club.

But then talks about Fos Williams coaching the club. I am also sure that John Cahill coached longer than Choco.

1870 lol...........

There's a thread about trading Robbie Gray. I can't go over there anymore it's total doom. Think their board may spontaneously combust. Enough Port talk, I know it's our bye but let's let them implode in peace lol.

Could be a conspiracy theory , but I reckon:
1. Port are paying the Advertiser for good news stories.
2. The Advertiser are using this money to pay 5AA to allow Rucci to annoy everyone on the sports show. (Why else would he be on there.)
3. Dixon is sponsored by Seppelts (*May not be true)

KT and Koch can't sack Hinkley this year. It'd be too big a knock to their reputations.

We were lucky with Sanderson that his demise coincided with a big switch in the Board and CEO. Ricciuto knew that Sanderson was toast, and he and Fagan weren't tied to Sanderson or felt pressure to retain him and were able to make a clean break. One of the reasons we were treading water under Trigg was that they were so entrenched which meant that any big decision meant that mistakes had to be admitted. He left, and it allowed changes to be made. It was still a very ballsy decision to sack Sanderson.

KT knows football and football clubs more than most, and a sh*tload more than Koch does, and he would know that they're in strife.

Thanks people. Ouch 2018 not good.
Love how the article states it is his first contract extension.
So I'd assume that means 2019 as he has a 1 year extension in his back pocket?
