About 5 years ago I went from 95kg down to about 80kg with gym, swimming, riding and eventually running. I did a 500m swim, 20kk ride and 5km run triathlon. Here I sit now at 103kg's. But I'm off to a doc today to see about a likely compartment syndrome which stops me from being able to play 2 rounds of golf back to back in a ride on buggy. I hope to return to something resembling fitness over the coming months.
at the start of the year I decided to quit smoking and lose weight. after topping the scales at 140kg, the first walk I did was 650m before I was hideously out of breath. in a month, I've got it to 5km without feeling like I'm going to faint. once I drop enough weight, I want to get my bike out

**** its hard though

edit - just want to point out, I'm not saying this for karma or kudos or anything like that. you gotta start somewhere. starting is the hardest part

Well you're certainly not drinking xxxx gold for the taste
Best beer I have tasted came from the Breakfast Creek Hotel it was xxxx back in the early 80's it was out of a old school wooden kegs , Sat at the bar an watch the ice forming on the glass as the beer was being poured. Story at the time was it was one of the only pubs that had xxxx in wooden kegs, and when the brewery tried to stop workers went on strike, (local legend maybe)Never matched the taste and I have tried a beers from wooden kegs since,
Also enjoy wine with a good meal both at home and out. a taste I picked up in my 40's the wine is selected for its taste.
Every drink has a taste, but one thing I have found out is the crap I drank as a kid I would not even go near now. And it boils down to taste. And there are few times I enjoy a good single malt whisky but has to be 20 plus years.
And I will argue with anyone there is a huge difference between whisky and 20 year whisky.

Each to there own. I like it. First one doesn't even touch the sides on a hot day.
Awful lot of beer snobbery goes on these days - almost at wine proportions.

I get text messages on what beer is being ridiculously discounted for the week and go grab whatever that is if I'm running low.

I've got mates that drink it out of a can 100% of the time when at home. I doubt I'd buy a carton of beer which matches any from the last 5 I'd purchased. Barely touching the stuff at home these days, so there's no way I'd waste it on lesser flavoured products. Rogers I don't mind though.

I don't drink anywhere near enough of it to be concerned with price. A carton would last me over 2 weeks. I walk into the cool room without a clue what I'll be walking out with. I do tend to grab the specials around Xmas when consumption volumes peak though. And always cans when road travel is involved, which is a bit limiting.

Oh yes definitely a lot of snobbery going on.
I Like xxxx. 1 can = 1 standard drink easier to gauge if I'm able to drive although I ride my bike if I'm going to have more than 2. I would average 2 a day and definitely not having it just for the alcohol. CB4H's is just picking a fight.

My other half likes Tun green $29.95 for a block and it tastes fine. But 4.0 alc/vol.

I also get a six pack of fancy craft beer occasionally but it's usually too weird tasting for an everyday thirst quencher.

Not snobbery, but some as they get older they tend to expand there knowledge, And once you tasted a good drop, it stay with you. So when you have the choice and a bit of extra cash you pay for the better drink.
I don't drink much any more, So when I buy beer, wine or spirit. I will spend up. why not it a little reward for me. If it was a BQ day I would buy Coopers, A good sit down meal at Home it would be wine. After dinner it could be a whisky. Reason why I am older I don't get drunk so I am looking at a drink, not a lot of drinks.

If the AFL decides against allowing Port to recruit top-up rookies, the club would start the year with one player less than Essendon.

"It's only fair if we're at an even playing field in terms of numbers on our list," Boak said.

"If we go in with 42 and they go in with 43 it doesn't seem too fair from my point of view.

"Hopefully it does get sorted out."

but... but... you started the year with one less guy on the list already! maybe you should talk to your incompetent list management people!

Or perhaps should stop over-paying players to remain or come to the club as a destination of choice... ;)

What would they have said if hypothetically we'd also had two Essendon players on our list?

We have 46 players at the moment, so even if two were banned, we'd still have 44 - two more than them.

Should the AFL then give them four top-ups so that they are equal with us? Of course not and it shows how ridiculous their reasoning is on this.

Coopers pale for me, my local has 5 longnecks for $20.

Coopers sparkling if I am feeling adventurous.

Don't mind some of the craft/micro brews but they have a bit much going on for me if I am having a session.

Everything else just tastes like flavoured water.

If your beer has a best before date, you are doing it wrong !!!!

The missus isn't happy when I bring home sparkling. Things tend to deteriorate quickly. A couple of coldies has a tendency to turn into something a bit more serious.

And they I was drinking a whole bottle Sunday night of Hentley Farm H-Block watching the cricket/tennis and might I say a bloody good drop. No hangover the next morning after a whole bottle of red.
