I don't mind it. Cricket has changed at the elite level and rules are rules.

The reality is batsman are creeping forward always pushing and on the look out for a quick run. F...them I say. They've already got half a tree now that passes as a bat, ropes inside the proper boundary and roads for pitches.

If they are out of their crease when they shouldn't be then they carry the risk and if caught then accept the consequence. Just observe the rule and stay in your crease.

End rant
Agreed. With this level of cricket being played by professional players representing their country, there really isn't much left to the 'spirit of the game' sadly.

If mankad is so against the spirit of the game, then I don't understand why don't they just outlaw it? Especially in limited overs cricket where the rules constantly change from year to year (kind of like another sport.....)

An action is either within the rules or it isn't.

It's not completely different.

Both are examples of a batsman being out of their crease at a time when they aren't permitted to, and therefore breaking the bails gets them out.

Bowling an underarm delivery is not legal unless agreed to before the match, and even then rolling the ball, or having the ball bounce more than twice is still illegal.
Well bowling underarm is illegal now ... but I think you understood what I was referring to.

I think that getting stumped and getting Mankadded are very different - especially in the case shown in this instant. The guy was backing up by about 50 mm, completely in the spirit of the game.

<edit> also to end the game like this is really ordinary, win at all costs is not my cup of tea.

I think it is coming ...

My early prediction for the teams in the 8 (in alphabetical order) was:

Adelaide
Fremantle
Gold Coast
GWS
Hawthorn
North Melbourne
Western Bulldogs
West Coast

Like Crowbots are dead says above - I have GWS and GC as the two teams coming into the 8.

They just have to have a decent run with injury and both teams will be very very difficult to deal with in 2016.
I hope they come soon as I see these 2 club and ports rampant drug culture the only things stopping the ferals winning a flag in the next few years.

Problem for Port was/is a static game style , mind you when that style is on it's terribly dangerous. However to a large degree the shock and awe tactic has largely been absorbed and countered - they needed a different look to balance that style - hence Ryder and Dixon.

They killed us with in the first showdown last year even without Dixon, launching long bombs. Could have been deadly this year.
Because we stupidly went in with an undersized defence dropping hartigan. Rectified for the 2nd showdown.

Think Hendo and was our 3rd tall aswell untill he was injured and Smith went back. was it Talia 195 Cheney 187 and Henderson 188/Smith 189 against Schultz 195, Westhoff 200 and Ryder 197.
Big differance to Talia 196, Hartigan 194 and Lever 194.
