He really isn't. He's benefitting from the Natasha Stott Despoja effect. Looks hot because surrounded by so much ugliness. But on close inspection, is very average.
Pretty much agreed, I heard an interview that he wasn't playing too well in the Sanfl but they decided to give him ago and has excelled at Afl level.
If he wasn't playing well in the Sanfl there is no way he'd be close to selection for us.

I said pushing for selection! Cmon mate not every player at port is a spud. You are better than this.
Look, in my opinion - these players would make our best 22 Wingard, Boak, Grey, heartlett and Wines

Crows/power midfield

C: Hartlett ~ Crouch Jn ~ Smith
Ruck: Jacobs - Grey - Sloane

With Boak, Wines to start on the bench.

Wingard would take Cameron's forward line spot.

Tex over Charlie
Lynch over westhoff
Jenkins over Shultz

Our back 6 would smash theirs

Two dads would not get a look in. He would be like player 28 or 29 on our list if not deeper and stuck in our reserves after some of our other small types. Brown, Smith, Laird, Atkins, Seedman, Knights, doedee - heck, I'd even play CEY in front of him.

They just wouldn't get a look in. Don't turn this into a me bagging them, their young players are just not every good. Just because they play AFL every week, doesn't make them a good player. Good players make their team better, he isn't very good.

A pre game song that they're embarrassed to sing with a message that just shows their paranoia
A leading Sports Psychologist told the Bulldogs to get rid of their 'scragger' label and mentality because they would never achieve anything whilst they thought of themselves in that way.

Similarly the Dockers were told to think about how the image of having an anchor around your neck could permeate your culture.

That song says a lot.

Koch drives SA footy move to Adelaide University Oval No 2

by Rooch

Port Adelaide is once again driving the direction of football in this state with a bold and innovative campaign for AFL football to hosted at the prestigious and spacious No 2 oval at Adelaide University.

"Adelaide Oval just wasn't for our fans," President Koch said, as he stood in the middle of the paddock, Port's spiritual home. "They found the name itself was enough to put them off, and we've had far fewer failures here at No 2.

"We want to move here, a special place in Port Adelaide history, where Fos Williams once dropped his car keys. Back in the 60s I think."

The move will require the SANFL to build grandstands, seats, a scoreboard, video replay screen, food outlets, disabled access - a stadium basically. But if the SANFL cares about its number one team, it will do it without complaint. If it doesn't, it will be telling - and prove they still hold grudges about 1990.
WTF is this about. Is Koch suggesting that Port Adelaide's heart is in the city of Adelaide. Not in actual Port Adelaide. Because Fos Williams was a clumsy fool once.
I don't get it.

DBJ is in the Pittard mould.

Pittard is having his best season looking good with spuds around him.

Play HB, collect loose ball move it forward but don't defend. That is both if these guys games. DBJ is young and the raw talent is there though.

DBJ could be a good player. If coached well.

It seems to me that after 2014 Port as a football club got carried away with believing the hype and as a result got way ahead of itself....

Now as a club they need to dig themselves out of a hole, they have locked in Hinkley and Burgess to long term contracts, their list is in need of rebuild with little currency to trade away, their on-field leaders are poor leaders who have also been locked away long term and the club over the last 2 years has been a complete smoke and mirrors show

Port have work to do however I can't see them making the tough calls that are needed to change this club around quickly

You live in Melbourne, where they now are virtually non existent since the success dried up.

Enjoy your superior coffee and let us enjoy our local rival failing............

So you don't waste your time watching the Victorian clubs? You know, the state that you live in?

Read Bachar Houli.

Luke Hodge gets taken #1 and after starring in the midfield for a decade as an uncompromising campaigner plays the QB role in a star team to perfection due to being a superstar himself.

Every other club: hey this guy is a left footer ....

They like to tell us how good Darcy is, but Ken has a good record of players doing well in their early days.

Also Aaron Young has had a good year apparently but I'd be interested to see how many goals he's kicked in the last 5 to 10 weeks when clubs realised they needed to man him up. I have noticed he's been sitting on roughly 30 goals for a while.

4 goals in the last 7 weeks.

Which includes games against the defensive might of Fremantle, Richmond, North and Brisbane.

No actually ......i watch teams that i enjoy the way they play ......the state of origin plays no part .......although some teams iam affected by team colors that i simply don't enjoy watching ......Brisbane, North Melb, and Sydney have to be playing elite footy for me to want to watch ........think it's the maroon and white in guernsey colors i don't like

I actually enjoy watching Port play ......

I have a question here:

How do shoddy administrations result in bad on-field performances?
They drive the direction and culture of the club. Players can smell a soul-less corporate franchise dedicated to spin a mile off so why would they fight to win.

I was so disgusted watching Port play last nite that I left at half-time. I've been to several of their games and all they do is turn the football over. How can you enjoy watching that crap?

They put the cart before the horse and don't place the correct emphasis on the correct areas of development.

They worry about incorrect ideals - like pre match entertainment, the match and a sing - a - long before the match, they then have incorrect people in off field positions that can not help develop the on field product. By hiring the wrong coaches, they don't actually develop the skills to stay competitive in a very competitive Environment.

They never successfully replaced Walsh and Richardson, what they did was go with the gimmick coach by hiring the 'dream duo' from the recuit and tried to cash in on that publicity. Back to the incorrect football strategies.

A footy club should always be about getting the on field product right, then other stuff will take care of itself.

Failure to build enough revenue to adequately fund footy depts

Poor club culture ultimately impacts players

Poor decisions on staff selection, coaches, recruiting & development

Good people = good businesses

So their so called conversion of an average player to a good forward flanker no longer looks so great.
Maybe Monfries would be a better option.

I can see it next year Young will be out of form and they will bring back Monfries from the Sanfl to save them. He'll get possibly 3 goals and fans will be singing his praises. Then he'll do sfa for the next couple and be dropped again.

It's a parody I wrote after the caffeine kicked in this morning.

Scarily, it's easy to do when Rooch writes crap that sounds like this almost every day - as evidenced by the fact you bought it. ;)

You don't post anywhere near enough about Richmond as I would expect from someone in Melbourne.

Drive the conversation. Yesterday we got Brisbane v Carlton on FTA on delay. And Port v Melbourne. 2 clubs who shouldn't have lost did. Its little wonder what the topic is. Not to mention we go out and see these people, we're surrounded by their supporters and our media.
