creme_fraiche the creed is a gimmick and always was. They werent always successful even with the creed. I agree with you though that the whole club has become one big exercise in PR and fan engagement. They dont know what their club stands for. The fans got sucked into 'one club', 'back in black', 'Never give up', 'port adelaide football' and the ever cringeworthy NTUA singalong. To me, the ultimate sign Port lost its direction was when they committed the ultimate sacrilege in dropping its premiership jumper. That jumper oozed success. But they lose one granny in it and they ditch it for a jumper designed by a 9yo girl that looks incredibly shit with no imagination because it had lots of 'black'. Geelong played in 5 losing grand finals in a row. They still have the same jumper. At the moment they are lost.

See any stupid beards at Hawthorn?

Any Hawks players wearing long sleeves?

If they want to enforce it, they can.
This.

How you hold yourself off the field and during training sessions is an extension of how you'll present on field.

If you can't get your planning and preparation right in the week leading up to a game, why should your performance when it actually matters count.

That bullshit wouldn't fly at Hawthorn. The senior playing group wouldn't allow it - let alone the coaching staff.

Mood is pretty low in Port Adelaide. One old guy dressed in his gear blubbering on to the shopkeeper about them being paid so much money and should do better.

Got a text from my paps last night, they were stuck behind 4 drunk Melbourne supporters at the game :D got to love having Power supporting family at times like this.

The majority of my family are Port supporters. The only time I hear from them these days is when Dangerfield plays a big game.

There's a lot of anti-Port in this post .......lots of bias, which is easy to post in retrospect

The Guernsey is fantastic and gives Port a closer look to their traditional Black & White, which they lost when the had a guernsey with way too much Teal in it

I am surprised it hasnt happened yet. Could it be turned into a SANFL oval. Crows reserves play home games on it. Build a couple of cheap stands? Have a glenelg oval type restaurant overlooking the oval. That way it can be closed during some trainings but open to the general public during the day.
I wouldnt bother with the stands. Keep the terrace seats around the ground. Bulldoze the rest and put temp sails up over the seating.

"You can't quote me from 2014, it's not relevant".

Haha. Of course, Michelangelo.

When you write utter shit, expect to be called on it.
He claimed this superiority at PAFC but he over estimated (like all the other media) just how good port is. Needs it to be rammed down his throat. Roo would be laughing.

No bare feet. Ken think it shows no respect to the Club.

He's right.

How any of the players could think that was acceptable; and how it was allowed to occur to the point it needed to be addressed, is unbelievable.

He should make Bassett his senior assistant, immediately - he wouldn't tolerate that kind of shit.

Its no closer to their traditional look. They had a premiership winning jumper and they ditched it. That is pretty average.

Except for the disastrous recruiting, he wasn't doing too bad (in hindsight).
I'll just leave this here:

Let's not romanticise the bloke and forget how bad he actually was. Just because Leppitsch is even worse (who'd have thunk it) doesn't mean he wasn't a legitimately awful coach in his own right.

Look at how well he's going as Kern's senior advisor :handok:

Oh i agree there ......you don't go anywhere these days bare feet ......that's dis-respectful
I don't necessarily have an issue about shoes around the club.

To me it says more about Polec than Hinkley. If you believe the Brisbane stories he isn't particularly motivated.

If Polec, with a navicular history, needs to be told to wear shoes (regardless of the reason given) then imo there is little hope for him.

Leppitsch got left with the mess Voss created - it was never going to be quickly fixed; and putting in a first time coach to try, was insane.

More Black and white now .....just the V in teal ......IMO great jumper and managed to move back more to Black & White without conflicting with Collingwood jumper ;)
