From the Port board - "Travis van Berloak is currently the worst captain we've had in the AFL".

and this "

"the most depressing thing is just the way we play.
Remember when we use to be down by 8 goals and we thought "pfft 48 points, no drama, roll the sleeves up and get dirty!" - you mean like the 2007 GF?

I don't necessarily have an issue about shoes around the club.

To me it says more about Polec than Hinkley. If you believe the Brisbane stories he isn't particularly motivated.

If Polec, with a navicular history, needs to be told to wear shoes (regardless of the reason given) then imo there is little hope for him.

That's a fair assessment as well .......apart from his first season at Port where he put his best foot forward after arriving at Port in worse condition that Menzel .......all his other seasons have been characterized by a lazy attitude, simply relying on talent .....this sound familiar with Menzel situation?

A lot of allusions to off field issues with Boak - anyone know the specifics?

You don't think the mass exodus of players and the implosion in culture, both under his watch, should be attributed to him?
That was all to do with offering Bradshaw up as trade bait - without telling him. The Fev thing was a disaster in terms of losing player loyalty. Not sure if Voss drove that recruiting side of things though? I know he had very little to do with the kids (ie. Some of them had never spoken to him since they'd been there). But they were performing much better on field than they are now, so he had some things right (or at least better than Leppa).

Seriously......peoples pre-occupation with Power is stalker creepy ........i prefer to ignore them & by not acknowledging their existence via silence, i find far more effective

Continually posting about them simply reinforces a complex
Given there's a reasonable chance that the Roos will lose their last 2 games, the game last night had a bit of meaning. Plus we've got them next week. A bit of interest in them is pretty normal at the moment.

I watched the game because i thought it would be a good match ......but what i posted about the Port paranoia was what i was referring to

There's a lot of anti-Port in this post .......lots of bias, which is easy to post in retrospect

The Guernsey is fantastic and gives Port a closer look to their traditional Black & White, which they lost when the had a guernsey with way too much Teal in it
I agree. The jumper change is the only good thing they've done and much as I hate the club, I've got to say it's a good jumper now. Says something when a 9 year old can do better than 'professionals'.

No it doesnt. There is way too much black. They were never 'in black' to begin with let alone a marketing stategy of 'back in black'. The amount of black in their first guernsey was about right, that one also had the traditional white panel for the numbers of the prison bars guernsey.

This.

How you hold yourself off the field and during training sessions is an extension of how you'll present on field.

If you can't get your planning and preparation right in the week leading up to a game, why should your performance when it actually matters count.

That bullshit wouldn't fly at Hawthorn. The senior playing group wouldn't allow it - let alone the coaching staff.
I work in the same building as Triple M and I saw Boak and Ebert in the building's café during the week (presumably waiting to go into the studio to be interviewed by Riccuito/Dittmar) and they were buried in their phones - couldn't see what they were doing but I got the impression they were playing that stupid Pokémon crap

Boak was wearing these puffy new Marty McFly 'Back to the Future 2' shoes and Ebert was wearing these Puma thongs.

I'm sure they are nice guys but they reeked of 'look at me look at me'

Charlie reckons Ryder will come in and be like what Nick Nat is for West Coast.

So after a year out of training alone playing AND turning 30, he will come back a vastly improved ruckman ??

Yeah, nah.

Stories of Boak's shoe collection, penchant for shopping expeditions whilst on away game duties and the walk in wardrobe he was building in his new house abound.

Part of the average port fan angst about what they consider a port adelaide footballer to be.

I thought Hamish Heartless has something to do with it, or was it Heartless's girlfriend whoes car broke down outside Travis Boak house, she slipped in some much and needed to take her clothes off. Travis was cold and they shared his blanket?

I don't think it had anything to so with a team mate. Just a coincidence in timing.
