Why should the Afl pick up essendon's costs?

If anything the Afl should be fining essendon.
Just what i read in one of the press releases regarding Essendons salary cap this year ....IIRC i am sure AFL said they'd pickup the differential ? .....could be wrong though

Mentioning Sammy... his response will be interesting given his stance over the last couple of years with ASADA's handling of the case.
A Dank kool aid drinker. He might be like Bruce Francis, who is even more deluded than Cornes and Newman, who thinks this will mean that WADA and CAS will be disbanded cause they hurt poor Essendon.

The ASADA Press conference started towards the end of the AFL one, and McDevitt was pretty impressive with his smackdowns during that. Roo was quite impressed by him too.
Heard McDevitt speak on MMM and didn't feel the need to listen to any of the other pressers in full, especially after the snippet I heard from Marsh. As Roo said, if anyone wants to hear the facts in a simple and coherent manner without any other ramblings about the poor innocent players, this is the guy to listen to.

Nah, he's smarter than that IMO. If he actually reads the findings I reckon his stance will change. It may not, but I don't think he is deluded as others, and was playing it up a bit for ratings.

He also is a customer of Danks. He might appear intelligent, but he has been completely wrong on every point so far in this saga. There is playing up for ratings and there is just being outright wrong.

I'm certainly more comfortable with their decision & satisfied that justice has prevailed. :)
I don't know. I find myself entirely dissatisfied with the penalties the club rec'd for what has now been determined to be a systematic doping regime. Missed their crack at a flag from 7th or 8th, big whoop. Less draft picks than us and a wad of cash, big deal.

**** me sideways, I've just seen Paul Marsh's comments. Particularly this one:

"we are struggling to understand how the CAS decision can be so different to that of the AFL anti-doping tribunal"

Seriously Paul? I know you won't tip over the gravy train but Blind Freddy can see the AFL tribunal had a preconcieved judgement prepared before they even heard the case.

when it comes down to it, I just don't see how the players can claim to be innocent rubes hoodwinked by sharper people in authority

if they thought everything was ok:
1. why lie to ASADA testers?
2. why hide it from your doctors
3. why lie about whether Dank attended games?

I don't see how these facts can be squared with innocent, good faith
That was the key thing for me. If they thought something seemed a little suss, why not at least ask ASADA for a 2nd opinion?

Also they put the reasoning why in the CAS judgement released today. If Paul Marsh can't comprehend a document like that, he shouldn't be a CEO.

Interesting words from Lloyd on Monfries. Said he had spoken to him today after he had rocked up to training and then got told to go home, feared he had played his last AFL game.

More than happy with today's result.

Simple message - you inject into your body without asking and you will get what you deserve. Absolutely no sympathy for the players.

Who I feel sorry for is the supporters.

Dank knows he is guilty and that is why he can't produce squat.

Can you imagine if this was a non-Victorian club?
