Thanks for your support Trumpette, perhaps you can head over to "China" for the game :thumbsu:
Do us all a favour and go on Facebook when you're over there.
Censorship of Facebook
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Main article: Internet censorship
Several countries have interfered with or banned access to the social networking website Facebook, including Bangladesh,[1] China,[2]Iran,[3] North Korea[4] and Syria.[5] Use of the website has also been restricted in other ways in other countries. As of May 2016, the only countries to ban access around the clock to the social networking site are China, Iran, and North Korea. However, since the vast majority of North Korean residents do not have access to the internet, in reality China and Iran are the only countries where access to Facebook is actively restricted in a wholesale manner.

You're Trump:thumbsdown: ...I'm the "Nasty Woman"

Someone has to ask the AFL what are the penalties if Geelong don't use 2 first Rd picks in the next 2 years. This needs to be upfront and not after the event.
The stupid thing is that the whole purpose of the rules are that they're supposed to prevent anyone from being in Geelong's position :drunk:

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Geelong told the AFL that they were getting a first round pick from Richmond for Caddy and that's why the AFL let them do it. Then because of the Delidio trade going to the 11th hour the 1st rounder from Richmond never eventuated.

The cats may need to pay a premium as other clubs will know

The afl haven't really set rules, rather loose guidelines... ;)

Yeah they two options, they try and offload a player next year for a 1st rounder or they have to wait until 2018 and then trade their 2019 1st for a 2018 1st rounder pick.
They may need to use their future 1st rounder + as they don't have many players who could attract a 1st rounder... & even then they need to convince them to move.

What's the bet the rule is changed to over a 6 year cycle...

Pretty sure our china venture is being funded in the most part by a Chinese billionaire. But ok
Pretty sure it's not.
IIRC Gui is putting money into some sort of Chinese Auskick. Not for the game, and certainly none for the PAFC.
Happy to be proven wrong, though. I await your link.

Fairfax Media understands the dual Brownlow Medallist, who left the Cats in 2010, told the Suns he wanted to move home to Victoria for family reasons.

Geelong became aware of the request shortly before the trade period began.

Despite mooted interest from Geelong coach Chris Scott, Cats football chiefs Steve Hocking and Stephen Wells assured Gold Coast's football bosses they had not driven the Ablett move and would have struggled to facilitate the trade.

Despite the obvious salary cap issues that would have arisen, the Cats were keen to see their favourite son return, but any potential trade was shut down by the Gold Coast, who were adamant he wouldn't be moved on under any circumstances.

Exactly, I can't see anyone on their list that they would be prepared to let go getting s first rounder and all for Touhy. Madness.
Could really cost then next year if the penalty is high as this will give other clubs leverage.

They should have used their future 2nd.

The afl & governments are paying for it, which effectively is via my afc season ticket & taxes.

It's going to be interesting to see how this will effect Geelong in the long term.

No first round picks in 15, 16 and now 2017 is going to leave a massive hole on their list.

It won't be long before their list is a complete mess, I would say that if Geelong don't win anything next year then Danger is going to be looking back at 2012 as the closest he ever was to a grand final.

Especially when your president says this:

Could this be the smartest thing he's ever said?
Pretty much sums up my thoughts on Port's China push.

It is a side show to Kochie's real passion. Australia/Asian economics.

I once enjoyed a lecture series he gave on the topic in the early 2000s at UniSA.

Don't the rules simply say it means the club won't be able to trade their subsequent first rounder - so in this case their 2018 first?

It's like being caught speeding and the punishment is to keep driving without speeding anymore.

Where's Vader at?
