They would have to do a deal with a singular club. Most EPL clubs have their own deals outside of the governing body. Then the argument is who do they choose? Cant be just Arsenal. Cant be just MU etc etcCan they afford it? Serious question.
Mumford and Sons aren't even the best at singing Mumford and Sons songs.
If the EPL was on FTA and prime time, it would be

Foxtel had the rights to virtually every EPL game and now Optus does. I don't think a FTA station could do that for monetary reasons as well as not having the space for it all. Channel 7 saves their big bucks for AFL and the Olympics. SBS for World Cup. Channel 9 for rugby and cricket. Channel 10, lol channel 10.They would have to do a deal with a singular club. It's not that it wouldn't rate or it won't make money. It's that they can't do it.
I would argue they now do. Not only FTA but subscription services online. Most stations have 4-5 channels. FFS if 10 can have 2 channels of infomercials surely they can find the space for something better.Foxtel had the rights to virtually every EPL game and now Optus does. Tell you what. I'm happy for Dangerfield to share in the spoils of what he brings in. It's what the AFL brings in in which I think he needs to get a reality check.Ha ha. You might be right.
But they still share as individuals the collective spoils of Mumford & Sons "music"
Because the games are on in the middle of the night. Why do you think the TV programmers keep shooting themselves in the foot denying audiences the ratings bonanza it would surely be?
FOXTEL still wanted it. Just that Optus paid stupid money.EPL is played during times where ratings are non existent in Australian TV.
People may watch it, but it is not commercially viable for FTA or even Foxtel. Hence POTUS were able to take it.

I know that you believe what you are saying, but the mention of soccer in a thread is like a red sheet to a bull to you (and some other posters). It is clear that you don't like it, that's fine. But don't go sprouting comments like facts when you have zero evidence to back it up. If they can't put 50,000 ads during a game, they won't do it. Plus they couldn't allocate the money for the rights because of other priorities. If it would rate they can do it.
If it would rate advertisers would be lining up
There's decent Appalation banjo and stihls in Kentucky.Ha ha. You might be right.

No they didn't.FOXTEL still wanted it. Just that Optus paid stupid money.
That's because once you go Foxtel, it is very very hard to go back. Despite the rip off costs of the thing. It's like trying to give up your mobile phone. No they didn't.
Foxtel have not had a substantial drop in subscriptions after losing EPL.
It was not worth paying for.

We have a great game called Aussie Rules. It's awesome and it's ours. You like it and I like it. But I also like soccer, as do many, many other people. It is the most popular sport in the world by an easy margin.
I just don't get why some people act so threatened at the mere mention of it. Relax. Sports can coexist lol.
If you don't like it, don't watch it.
Thank you for cementing my point. You are really wasting energy better spent elsewhere. What's your point?
no one is threatened by a poorly watched game with limited audiences.
It is mildly irritating when a minority of fan bois want to pretend they're more numerous than they are

Siren to Siren AFL no ads or Married at First Sight hmm? Tough one.

Never change Sanders. Never change. It's fairly obvious you don't have a point. You are pointless![]()

It depends on your TV, I have a TV where it's instant but another where it's laggy. Don't blame Freeview.I just gave up mine about 2-3 weeks ago.
No AFL or Game of Thrones this time of year - we were watching more FTA shows anyway.
I do miss having a TV guide that worked straight away - the Freeview EPG is a laggy piece of shit.
Would be interesting to know then what Katy Perry makes from music (not endorsements) as a % the total worldwide music market, and compare that to Dangerfield.
The other thing is musicians tour. They create their own product.
Plus endorsements. AFL players can get endorsements. There's no cap on that.
