He won't be ready for quite some time though. Hawks will be in rebuild mode by then so the little prat can go and get stuffed
Maybe Jarman goes to Hawthorn, plays in a grand final that they win, he then comes back to SA and plays for us and then we........

History repeating? :$

I was wondering if Crows weren't showing much interest.
That was the key point Damo made. Jarman hasn't snubbed us, we just haven't been as keen as the Hawks who seem to be going full throttle for him. Damo said the Crows feel they are well stocked in that area.

Why did Port sign Hartlett for 5 years at the end of 2015?
Because he had an long term offer from the Roo's on the table and panicked.

I'd of thought we'd grab him just for the sake of having our 1st F/S pick.

Under the AFL’s father-son rule, Ben is eligible to go to both Adelaide and Hawthorn.

“It’s just a fascinating conundrum, isn’t it,” Caro said on FIVEaa on Thursday.

She said fellow Fairfax reporter Emma Quayle – “the preeminent journo looking at young talent across the country” – was tipping the Crows would nab the youngster.

LISTEN HERE:

“Emma thinks that he will choose Adelaide,” Caro said. “While he’s obviously not Darren Jarman, she really likes the look of him.”

“Obviously we love the father-son rule and we don’t like the fact that the AFL is looking at maybe even complicating it further, which just seems crazy to me.”

But Caro said it would be a great thing for the Crows to recruit their first player under the father-son rule.

“It will be so wonderful for that club to get a father-son, and I’m sure it will be the first of many.”

Had to laugh at the quote from the gc about the 2017 china game (which a decision has been delayed again)...

The Gold Coast Bulletin reported on Tuesday that Suns' chairman Tony Cochrane was enthusiastic about the fixture.

"Obviously for the Gold Coast with our enormous and growing Chinese connection, we are very keen to be the team that represents AFL in China," Mr Cochrane said.

:$
PAPs banter aside - the above actually makes sense - the Gold Coast is the logical fit for China, their jumper colour is great, the Gold Coast is full of Chinese businessmen and tourists and the GCFC needs money etc - I say the AFL should push for them to be the their AFL rep in China.

Did the Port guys have a Mad Monday?
Sad Monday

I assume so given one of their leadership group crashed their car while drink driving over the weekend.
Ooohhhh ....
I've only heard 3rd hand. Apparently certain media outlets are aware but are still confirming which player it was. Given their suspicions, I doubt he'll be at Port next year.
Thought Ken said they were " grown ups " and didn't need to be " told" how to behave ????

He'll choose us, but it has to go both ways. Nobody considered the possibility that we wouldn't want him.

We would want him definitely imo. Aside from potential there is the marketing angle as well.

Betts wont last forever, CC has yet to make his mark. The landscape of small forwards can change in an instant. Freo are now likely to be without one.

I can see that backfiring big-time. I would just hate a Jarman to be "over-looked" when we could get him for a discount. Surely there are enough signs combined with the DNA to get him under F/S ??

Marketing does not even come in to the equation, winning games is best for football marketing

The club has Jarman pegged as a 3 round pick and this is where you usually target players on a needs basis

It seems that we have plenty of players that could play a Ben Jarman role
