So your happy with our recruiting then? So why is our team shite? No effort, coincidence, act of nature, bad luck, poor management? Which one?
Perhaps the non-Freo thread isn't the place for it, but it's a team that has been top 4 for the last 3 years, our most successful period to date. Obviously they are trying to change things this year.
We all want a flag, it might be a wait still. But you bitching and moaning about our list (which was good enough to take us to top of the table last year) isn't going to change a thing. I'd hate to think what you were like in 2001.

Jayden Pitt mate cmon
Realistically, no one would of taken Howe that early in the draft and everyone would of taken Pitt before him. Pitt could of been ok, doubt a gun, but the fact he could hit a target would have him in our team right now. Taking him over Darling was completely stupid, no denying that.

no denying being top 4 but isn't that attributed to the recruiting team prior to Lloyd? What he has failed to do is properly back fill the team since. That's my beef if you can't see that good luck to you

No Mundy, Sandilands, Silvagni and Bennell (B22 Lock ins) last week against them and they didn't have the Derby's BOG tonight and obliterated Richmond. I have a feeling we might be in a good spot if we fix the simple things, we most likely have played 3/4 Top 4 teams for this year already.
We are the second worst team using the ball and the worst team at allowing the opposition to use it well.

That is an area we can improve and performance will jump massively.

But keep on burying your heads in the sand if you are happy with our last 5 years of recruiting
Blakely, and Hughes haven't failed yet.
Add them to Weller, APearce and Langdon and lets judge that draft year at the end of this season. There's a reasonable chance all five are regulars by the end of this season.
Apeness too should be given this year to prove himself.
Tucker, Collins and Yarran shouldn't be assessed til the end of next year but all three coulld conceivably be getting a regular game this year.

I guess that's what I am trying to say. We didn't rate Darling or Parker over Pitt either
they didn't train with us though so we really must not have rated sinclair.
Every club passed on Parker and Darling too btw and the well documented reason that Darling slid was he had a history of getting in trouble

In the last 5 years we have picked up Spurr, Sheridan, Crozier, Neale, Sutcliffe, A.Pearce, Weller, Taberner, Langdon, Blakely, Hughes, Grey who all look pretty good prospects, remember this is with no picks in the top 10 and like 1 or 2 in the top 15 of the draft

Long haired Champs.
Hindsight provides insight into Pitt's medical condition...Simpson we knew we were taking a large risk reward punt...We got close but lost??
I'll take the last 5 years of footy. They've been refreshingly good.
Last 5 years of recruiting could have been better, obviously.Bits of bad luck, judgement, location etc not gonna get obsessed about an inexact exercise I don't control.

Apeness took one year out from Aussie Rules to play rugby;had a successful reco and is coming back successfully from another knee issue while at Peel.Might be very handy indeed. There are others on the list who could be 200 gamers.
The Yeo draft yielded:Sheridan, Hayden Crozier (pick 20), Alex Forster (29), Lachie Neale (58) and Cameron Sutcliffe (71),so despite Forster not firing, the draft would be deemed a success. From memory Forster had an extra footy issue as well??

It is not an empirical science.
The Dogs have been the best at it recently(assisted by a couple of father sons which we ain't got).
Before recently they weren't.
