And story goes HIS old man was knocking on Freo's door begging us to take him prior to the him "choosing" WC but was told that we had enough of his type on the list and if his boy wanted to get a regular game he should look up the road for a trade.

Doh!!
Not to rub it in too much but i do scratch my head about Freos recruiting when they pass up players in positions they desperately need for more mids a position they are already strong in. Players like Yeo, Darling, J. McGovern, M.McGovern, Lever, M.Adams etc

I can actually understand them knocking back Yeo - no one would have known at that stage what an absolute ripper he would turn out to be. He hadn't really shown a whole lot at Brisbane up to that point, other than being a good honest player, and we had recently recruited Sheridan, Crozier, Neale, Sutcliffe, PLUS we were coming off the GF and we still had Tendai and Clancee and Duff playing decent footy. It still hurts when I think of how Yeo turned to the crowd and gave it to them at the Freo home derby after he kicked a goal last year. I remember thinking, you would have been part of this crowd up till a few years ago... :(

But yeah, missed an opportunity with Yeo, and certainly agree on all the others you mentioned above.

Lol, I forgot today's match was going to be the 'country' game.

I don't really have an issue with most of the AFL's manufactured marque 'cause' games, but this concept feels particularly forced and pointless to me.

Not watching but is there a lack of cyclone force winds for once down in Tassie? Both teams on 10.4 which seems bloody accurate for a York Park game.

Long haired Champs.
Appalling adjudication which turned the tide.
Irony being the Hawks have been awarded the mark after the 11.5 metre kick for years.

Umpires are some of the best momentum killers.
