Here's my concern, and note it's my first time watching north this year.

They are a touch slow. But they get away with a fair bit due to the experience they have on the ground.
Now, we all know that age isn't the be all, and end all.

But I'm worried they haven't developed a resting program.
With an easier start its crucial they capitalise. But they aren't about to start resting the older players when they hit the stretch nsfb has listed above.

So when do they give them a break?
They'll only get slower if they don't.
Fair point.
Its like some old racehorse thats a VoRouge type.. that out the front and running hard and hoping it all hold together... but its a long time between now and Sept. They have sort of sneaked up on the finals the last couple and then gone well late. This year , would it surprise anyone if they hit a wall?

Both Melb and Dogs sort of failed to make the most of their chances.. some teams will.

I'm sure they'll be there abouts.
But we are in uncharted waters regarding the impact of the 90 rotations and no sub.
We're getting a feel on what it's doing quarter by quarter. But we just have no idea what the gradual drain will do after 6 months of footy.

It's what I like about what Geelong are doing.
Ie. I pretty much wait for my car to be out of fuel before I refill it. The cats seem to be doing it with a 1/2 full tank.

Now I don't know, and probably no one knows, if it will be a deciding advantage.
But I can't see how it could be a negative. (As long as we are winning).

That was a nice long kick by Jones to the forward line, his teammate didn't have to move to take the mark - how come when we try the long ball to an open teammate in the forward line it ends up about 20m in the opposite direction to where they actually want it?

Adelaide are decent. Dees, injured Dogs, Fremantle, Suns and Lions.

Have St.K, Eesendon and Carlton on the horizon but the test will be after that. Sydney (A), Richmond, Geelong (A), Hawthorn, Adelaide (A), West Coast (A) all in a row. Tough stretch.
Bit of a weak year this year in terms of depth of teams pushing for finals.

Usually, there is some jostling within the top 4, some jostling over position 4, 5 and 6. And competition across 7, 8, 9, 10 and maybe 11.

This year Richmond, Port and Collingwood will not compete for the 7 and 8 spots.

Freo is gone.

GWS and GC may and below them would be the Saints and Melb.

You can almost call the top 8 now.

1. North
2. Cats
3. WC
4. Sydney
5. Hawks
6. Dogs
7. Crows
8. GWS

This means that it's probably one of the easier years to win a premiership. The top 8 ar fairly even. It can just go your way on the day.

And truly amazing that he is considered a good coach by some, despite the damage he's done to two clubs now.
I don't rate him - yes he took 2 different clubs to grand finals, but he didn't build either list and it doesn't look like he knows how to rebuild one either. He requires someone else to have laid foundation where he then comes in to "finish the job"; only problem is that he seems to finish the teams also

Exactly.

He's clueless on a number of levels.
