Yeah, um...

You might want to change the time out of respect.
quality pick up right there - don't know about anyone else but gotta say the jimster knows his way around the buttons - some sort of formatting up top

PICK #1 - ESSENDON - Hugh McCluggage - North Ballarat Rebels/Vic Country - 185cm/75kg

There's been a lot of recent speculation that McGrath could be the pick here. There was also late season interest from the club in getting Brodie into their VFL team with the view to taking him at the top pick. I just don't see it with McCluggage available. This kid excels at two different skill sets which set him apart from the pack. He's a quality outside mid that will strongly compliment a young and developing midfield AND he is very dangerous around goals, having a penchant to kick them from anywhere and in volume, a good foil for Daniher and their big forwards. Can't go wrong here.

Pick 2 (GWS) - Andrew McGrath
Height: 179cm Weight: 75kg
Club: Sandringham Dragons

This is the kid we sold the farm for. Probably the most complete and ready made player in this draft. He has great endurance, line-breaking speed, leadership and pretty neat skills. Will be a replacement for Shaw on the half back, but should get some game time before that.

Just a note, if people could start tagging the poster for the next club to pick in their posts, that'd be awesome. Also to remember when bidding for an academy/father son player to again tag the relevant poster.

For those looking to match, there's very clear points info on the tracker I've made if you wish to evaluate draft position vs talent of the bid-on player.

You're asking for a lot I feel, but possible.
I have my first locked and loaded.
That's the first two rounds, and I'm anticipating a decent flow from here to pick 25, then some activity tonight. If we're into the third round early tomorrow, it means we're not going to be losing our minds come Monday.

Keep in mind there's a few clubs with back to back picks.

Pick 3 (Brisbane) - Ben Ainsworth
Height
: 179cm Weight: 74kg
Position: Small forward

Same rationale here with this selection as the earlier phantom-draft, adding Ben Ainsworth to previous first round sections in Josh Schache and Eric Hipwood will lay the foundations of a very solid forward line as the Lions continue their rebuild. A genuine match-winner in the making this exciting small forward has all the tricks to make an immediate impact at AFL.

Gold Coast bid - Will Setterfield

Setterfield is a beast, sliding under the radar due to his status as an Academy player Will is arguably one the most pure midfielder in the draft. With a mixture of inside and outside play and with a larger frame than SPS Setterfield is a rolls royce midfielder. GWS won't be getting him cheap.

Assumed match;

Pick 5 (GCS) - Sam Petrevski-Seton

Pos: Mid
Club: Claremont
Starpower: Rat's tail

This is probably the hardest pick to make. No bid on Bowes means GC are free to hit the open market (cheers Brisbane for that one) with Bowes coming in soon, and another couple of picks GC want to get in on the talented midfielders quick. I was tossing up between one of Brodie or Taranto but feel both, with their inside mid talents offer largely the same thing to GC. I can get one of them after Carlton's selection, so instead of taking one now and possibly missing out on the difference maker that is SPS i'll take SPS now and grab whichever of Taranto or Brodie is left over.

SPS is a beeautiful mix of in and out, with ridiculously clean hands and a very fast break away. His disposal is probably the best in the draft and he's got the attitude to change a game. Doesnt have the goal sense you'd want out of a midfielder like him but we can work with that. Luckily Jack Martin has that in spades.

Pick 4 (GWS) - Will Setterfield
Height: 190cm Weight: 80kg
Club: Sandringham Dragons

Couldn't not match this bid. Setterfield is a big bodied midfielder in the mould of Cripps, Fyfe, Pendlebury and Bontempelli. Athletic and a smooth mover in heavy traffic, Setterfield will be given even opportunity to develop into an A-grade mid.

Something to fill in the gap

Didn't realize the significance. Watched the song, really enjoyed it - although it's the only one of his I know like a lot of folks. Then read the news in the paper. Think he had a significant, extensive career and he did it with less fuss and noise than possibly any performer before him.
