For the trade future picks, i'm going off this article http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-07-05/indicative-draft-order-giants-suns-set-for-2016-draft-windfall
Sin City you're up for the dopers

Pick 1 - Essendon - Will Brodie

To me there are two clear standouts at the top of the draft but picking for Essendon is much easier. They already have a terrific bunch of running on ballers in Heppell, Merrett, Zaharakis and Parish so Brodie is the big bodied clearance and contested ball winner that will feed it out to the others. Perfect replacement for Jobe Watson and a star that you can build a midfield around.

Chasing 17

I'll take Port
We need a tall forward, marshall would be good, if not available at first pick then i think we will target a good ball using midfielder, or big bodied inside mid. We should be looking at a tall ruck forward later in the draft or project power forward. Our needs are at least one big forward, one ruck, one classy ball using mid, one big bodied mid and maybe a key back late in the draft.

Thats the obvious logic isn't it Sin, they havent got many contested inside beasts, especially since Jobe came off the juice and well now will soon be retiring.

I've been hoping they may go McLuggage regardless because I think Brodie is more of a chance to slip to #5 than stow-away would be.

But Brodie is such a good fit for the dons**

Pick 2 - Brisbane - Ben Ainsworth

Having already locked up key targets such as Josh Schache and Eric Hipwood, adding an elite small in Ben Ainsworth will lay the foundations for a devastating forward line as the Lions continue their Carlton-like restart.

FF Ben Ainsworth - Josh Schache - Dayne Zorko
HF Pearce Hanley - Tom Bell - Eric Hipwood

What Brisbane might lose in overlooking a Hugh McLuggage they'll make up for with the next crop of QLD born academy selections. Brisbane should also pass on a Bowes bid as a nod-and-wink to Gold Coast regarding these future picks.
