With no bids on Bowes, GC are in an amazing position here, with Bowes certainly in the top 5 talented kids in the country, this is a perfect chance to double dip. It-s tempting to take Marshall and go the mid/kpf combo, but I dont think I can go past the next best midfielder for GC here.

Dion Prestia who? With the double hit of this player and Bowes, GC's midfield will be instantaneously boosted.

I select, Sam Petrevski-Seton. The WA utitlity is a good little combination of inside and out, who has great scope for success at AFL level. What tipped me further in his direction is the lack of a go home factor. Not only has it been said SPS is excited to move out of WA and go to a strong football club, but the country boy should feel at home with fellow indigenous midfielders Aaron Hall and Jack Martin to help him with any issues in the move. He also supports Brisbane so obviously has some silly affection for QLD.

Very excited to select this kid.

Sam Petrevski-Seton (WA)
Position: Utility
Height, weight: 180cm, 73kg
Recruited from: Claremont
Plays like: Shaun Burgoyne
Projected draft range: top five
Rated last month: 7
Rationale behind ranking/change of ranking: On return from hamstring injury, he has not taken the game on to the level he has in the past. Willingness to go to stoppages and get his hands dirty has been promising.
Strengths:
- Acceleration
- Evasiveness
- Ambidextrous kick
- Quick, instinctive handballs
- Freakish football instincts for where teammates and opponents are
- Brilliant, clean ground-level pickups
- Plays on at every chance
- Finishing ability around goal
- Versatility to play midfield, back or forward
- Impact per possession
Weaknesses:
- Can win some contested ball but not dominant contested-ball winner or first-possession winner
- Strength
- Unclear best position
- Inconsistency

Other considerations:
Andrew McGrath
Todd Marshall, and
bidding on Perryman.

I'll match the bid, umm is anyone more aware of how the system works and can figure out what picks it costs me.

You can go ahead with your selection zee

HARKER are you on top of the bidding process?
You'll want to get a pretty complex spreadsheet happening with draft position points and know the rules back to front ;). I can help here and there, Jimmae is over it too.

I bid on Bowes

FlowersByIrene get working on that bidding system ;)

Carlton pick 5 (1878 pts) GCS need 1502 pts to match.

GCS Pick 9 (1469pts + 33pts from next pick). Luckily in this situation, Gold Coast's next picks will be equal points and there's no shift in draft order.
Perfect, so i'll just cut pick #9 out and put Bowes at #5.

GCS actually have pick #8, Zee, does that change anything?

wows, no bids on Bowes? :(

That's what I'm worried about will happen in the real thing.
Brisbane has no obligation to name Bowes at all and if they prefer xxxx, then why would they bid anyway?

GC in a great position to double dip into the top talent, possibly leaving us a pick shy of who we really wanted.
What can we do to get Brisbane to help us :) ....nah.....that won't happen.

Carlton - Andrew McGrath

As a draft prospect he's the total package. Leader (co-capt Vic Metro), power athlete, good skills, quickish, can lock down on an opponent, ball magnet.

Predominately plays half back but has recently moved into the midfield and actually had 30 possession games. Has turned games when he's locked down on a dangerous forward but also gives good run and rebound at the same time.

Athletically he'd be up there in the top 3 or 4 this draft and his powerful jump/running is great in the back line but could be a real point of difference in the midfield.

Should play AFL next year and if the trade period goes like we think it will we'll have

Byrne, Marchbank, Weitering
Docherty, Plowman, McGrath with old man Simpson doing his own thing.

Like Mills and Heeney, in time he'll move into the midfield

you're up gandaal

Pick 7? Richmond

Richmond should probably recruit a key forward to replace Riewoldt. Lucky for them one is available at this pick. I'm sure they wouldn't go the short term option of trading their first pick after this year made it clear they aren't up to standard and they need a rebuild. Especially considering their second is already gone. They're not that stupid surely?

:D

Richmond select Todd Marshall

Oversized Key Forward. Skinny. Going to take time. The third mystery McKay triplet.

The third triplet.. Except far uglier

Pick 8 - Collingwood. Even though Pies don't have a first round and if they did i would pick Nick Dal Santo just to waste their pick. Given what has been selected and what I think they need I will pick

Jack Scrimshaw. Big running defender who could become a mid. Key for me is his ball use and the Pies desperately need good ball users.
Yeah whoops, so sorry Soap, that should be GWS's pick, would you mind deleting yours and tagging the GWS selector?

The third triplet.. Except far uglier
Disfigured at birth he was left on a hilltop to die by horrified villages. Raised by wolves, ripped from the desperate arms of a giant, he returns ready to take his revenge.

It's a Hollywood epic.

Dissapointing no one put in a bid for Perryman or Setterfield before GWS's first pick, same thing as the Bowes pick, hope it doesn't go down like this on the day
It's better this way. If nothing else we've learned so far that no matter what pick 5 should get us a good prospect.

Pick 8 (GWS) – Tim English
Height: 204cm
Weight: 86kg
DOB: 10/08/97
From: South Fremantle/Western Australia

With Lobb looking like he’ll be heading to WA and Mumford not getting any younger, the club wants to bring in an A-grade ruck prospect. English’s skills and athleticism are as good as most midfielders – reminiscent of Dean Cox. He’s played some senior footy in the WAFL this season and performed serviceably. He’s still quite slight so he’ll take time but he should be a star.

ParapMarkets you're up next.
