Gee, the Hawks aren't lacking in too many areas.

Assuming Vickery and Mitchell / JOM land at Waverley Park, they really don't have too many clear deficiencies. They just keep rolling over talent onto their list each year.

Simpkin was tempting, but they're well covered in the smalls dept. With Burgoyne and Mitchell in their twilight, both incredible running half-backs, I've gone for Witherden. A Victorian product, good size (185cm), fantastic kick of the footy, no fuss and tough, I feel he'll fit the Hawks nicely. I also remember Brenton Sanderson had big wraps on him.

Pick 16 - Alex Witherden.

Pick 8 (GWS) – Tim English
Height: 204cm
Weight: 86kg
DOB: 10/08/97
From: South Fremantle/Western Australia

With Lobb looking like he’ll be heading to WA and Mumford not getting any younger, the club wants to bring in an A-grade ruck prospect. English’s skills and athleticism are as good as most midfielders – reminiscent of Dean Cox. He’s played some senior footy in the WAFL this season and performed serviceably. He’s still quite slight so he’ll take time but he should be a star.

ParapMarkets you're up next.

This is a good fit for GWS, I reckon. They're so bloody well covered in all other facets, a promising tall / project player makes sense.

Blue and Silver is up for Sydney, the GWS selection at the end of the first is expired, after Sydney's pick we move into the 2nd Round with Essendon picking at #19.

Are we even having a third round?

Just a thought.

What we could all do is to list our three next best players after the second round is done and then debate those selctions.

We probably went O.K. first round. Will have some good things in the second and may be fair to say, would have little idea for the third, for now at least.

I'm not super keen on skipping people, especially in this one because it's only two rounds so some people only have one pick.

But I like Blugazi's idea.

I'm just about to start work. Can someone peg in the next highest rated player on Twomey's phantom and we'll move on.

Pick 19 - Essendon - Jordan Gallucci

Really wanted a tall here but the good ones are gone. That said, Gallucci is very high on my list and is good value at 19. Having completed the Bombers on ball division his run and carry will be a good addition. Fast, fit and skilful, Gallucci has played all over the ground as a junior including on the ball and while he is composed around the contest and has used his speed to break away from stoppages he's a wingman at AFL level and that's handy for the Bombers as they have some quality half forwards and half backs but no real Isaac Smith type sprinter to carry the ball between the arcs.

Looks to be a pretty classy act from what I saw.
Funny how he just seems to have been around for years already....or should I say, spoken about for some time.

Would be happy should we get him for one of the dozen second rounders we're going to have. :)

Pick 20 - Brisbane - Griffin Logue

With a decent amount of young talent in the forward line (Schache, Hipwood and Ainsworth) we're gonna lock in the best key defender in this year's draft, the big man from Western Australia, Griffin Logue.

At 194cm and weighing 92kg the big fella is no slouch with deceptive leg speed, an athletic tank and the ability to play all over the ground when needed. Griffin Logue will also makes a great addition to the list restart as we say goodbye to Daniel Merrett.
