I like it Arr0w. Should be fairly close i'd reckon.

Bowes is gonna be very interesting. Brisbane or Carlton should put snap bids on him, or he could very well get right thru to where you have him where GC will just select him at 10 to get the discount to bring 73 up to use on Scheer.

Cheers Terry

Really interesting this year, personally I have Setterfield in front of Bowes, but could go either way. Things will change as we get more snippets of information regarding the kids, as well as media rumours.

Heard that if Dons, do select McGrath, GWS prefer Ainsworth over McCluggage

Very even draft

Left Field Draft:

1. Setterfield - Bombers like him and he loves the Bombers. Has potential but will be a huge shock at #1. - GWS will match the bid as cannot afford to lose their academy draft stars if they want the academy to work properly (imagine next years academy stars knowing GWS will not match high bids?).
2. McGrath - Bombers go for the jet. Avoid #1 limelight. Get a great kid.
3. Bowes - Brisbane bid to get the most talented kid yet seen from Queensland. GCS match as need to make academy pathway work (and not feed their direct Qld rival).
4. Ainsworth - Brisbane get the very talented small forward that Schache needs at his feet. Potential in midfield is a huge bonus.
5. Now CFC have a massive choice:
a. Scrimshaw - youngster who has size, talent and speed, would compliment Cripps size in midfield brilliantly and can start in our back 6 to learn the game from a very competent group. Would not be at all upset with this choice.
b. Brodie - gun inside mid with good size and speed to develop a combo with Cripps. Great hands and side step, but injuries limited output this year. Would start round 1 in the middle to fill an obvious need for CFC.
c. Taranto - goal kicking mid that just seems destined for CFC. Great compliment to our midfield group and could start round 1 on a HFF.
d. Mcluggage - considered by many as the best kid in the draft. Goal kicking mid who does everything well. Great stats and will play round 1.

Would CFC take SPS, Hayward or English over that selection of players....I think not......so our selection is...

5. Mcluggage - just cannot pass over his immense potential despite the quality of the other options.
6. Scrimshaw - GCS get the super talented project they desire. Scrimshaw is not a gamble as at worst he will be a great defender, but may become the best kid drafted this year.
7. SPS - Freo go for the supremely talented local who will give them the pace they so desire. Adding Hill and SPS makes Freo a very fast team through the middle. Ross may need a new game plan...
8. Taranto - GCS get another elite mid. May not miss Prestia and JOM at all.
9. Perryman - Sydney bid for the highly talented mid who is young with significant upside. Seems almost laconic as he executes in a game and will be a star of the future. GWS match and lose a few late picks.
10. Brodie - Sydney get the next Josh Kenndey with Brodie to be perfectly trained/groomed to add grunt and feed the ball to the classy skills of Heeny and Mills. Can feel a dynasty midfield being created here.
