So opinions about his kick vary from "crap kick" to similar to the best kick in the competition?
Sorry, poor clarity from me. I reckon he kicks "like" Hurn, action wise, especially the long kicks. Not suggesting he has the accuracy or short kick ability, let alone decision making. At this stage anyway.

Doesnt get much love on here but i think Shai Bolton would be a great addition to PAFC list as an outside mid and replacement to the aging Matty White.

The kid just oozes xfactor!

Just read article in Helard sun draft player data rankings interesting Brodie ranked 15th and some coments on certain players
Gallucci crows and port circling
Witherden chance at ports 14
Thats from Sam Landsberger

We need about 3 or 4 more picks to cover the players we are linked too. It's no wonder we are supposed to have put 13 players up for trade. It's also no surprise nobody would give anything up to get them.

I like him as well. Height being his issue. There is just plenty of great options around. Id be happy at 30, not 14/17.

Wow Brodie at 14 would be the best possible result imo. I can't see him being there, I can at 9 though.

SPP at 27.

This is my fear with him (at 14 or 17), just doesn't get enough of it or do enough with it to justify a high ranking.

CD base their rankings on stats, not highlights.

Its purely statistical data though.

There are people on that list who werent invited to the combine and people invited to the combine that werent on that list.

While statistics plays a role, its not the be all and end all at this level IMO. Particularly when you are selecting based on future prospect.

Venables at 10 is interesting though :)

Looking solely at stats is a useful way to see what a player did, but it's an entirely flawed way to look at things as well.

SPP played 5 games at senior WAFL level in West Coasts reserves team coming off the bench. He's not going to lead the midfield in a team full of AFL listed guys. Is there any weighting put to these ranking points from Champion Data? Should he have more weighting for playing at senior level compared to SPS who only played at Colts level this year? SPP's colts stats were as good as SPS. Then you've got someone like Zac Fisher who only played in the WAFL seniors all year. Should he have been rated even higher because of that?

Probably why all these lists and draft games are fun, but when it all comes down to it, I'd be trusting full time scouts and recruitment teams.

I'm still really hoping Drew is there with our last picks and we can snare him with 30. Could definitely turn out vanilla, but really like his upside. Good footy IQ, and he has a bit of athleticism that our recruiters should enjoy.

Stats from a whole year are a hundred times more reliable than watching 1:35 min of highlights.

Sure, they ain't the "be all" but They are VERY important. Highlights are of very limited importance.

Would you judge Daniel Stewart from his highlights or his stats?

Josh Battle isn't going to make an immediate impact if chosen for Port next year. He is staying in Melbourne for the year to complete his schooling. Source. Some article I was reading about Sydney telling him he was too one dimensional.

There is absolutely no way Brodie drops to 14. knowing our luck, he'd probably get to 13 and crows take him. I dont want Gallucci but im starting to fear it.

There are rumours that Brodie has been pretty vocal to clubs in his desire to stay in Victoria. So the only way I see him falling to our pick is if he's told a bunch of clubs he's out the door after one contract and he falls past Carlton and North.

It's remotely plausible.

Brodie dropping out of the top 10 will make our list managers look like idiots. The gamble they took trading down from 9 to 14 will end with eggs on faces if there is a slider out of the top rung- McGrath, McCluggage, Ainsworth, Taranto, Brodie or SPS.

I can accept risk on Scrimshaw, Marshall, English, Logue the academy boys and the other mids, but to lose out on one of those six to get another pick from the next rung down, is a massive fail. I feel for the guys we take at 14 and 17 too, because if there is a slider we miss out on, they will constantly be compared to that guy. Our trading down tactic is a massive risk so let's hope our recruiters knew what they were doing and knew there would be no sliders from this 6.
