List Mgmt. 2016 Potential Draft Picks

I like SPS. To me, he looks classes beyond the other players. Maybe thats why recruiters get paid for this and i type on big footy.

Pick 1 - Hoping to get Hayward. If picked up earlier, likely to take Alex Witherden.
Pick 2 - Marshall if available

Key defender we like is Maibaum

We're not into Graham, Scharenberg or Berry

We won't touch English with our first 2 picks

So the question remains, which midfielders are we into?

Which is a massive concern! Our list managers have well and truly proven they can't build and maintain a balanced list so they get no benefit of the doubt here!

Would the coaches change the mids we use though? Because the draftees wouldn't be getting games over Wines, Boak, Gray, S.Gray, Ebert, Ah Chee, Hartlett, Polec or even Palmer, Wingard, Broadbent, and Impey all who can roll through the midfield.

Gallucci doesn't get much of the ball. Has poor kicking. Athlete. Quigley ranking 26.

Hayward averaged 7.3 disposals in champs. Small undersized lead up forward. Quigley sees no mid potential. Raised ranking from undraftable to 33. Athlete.

Witherden. Broken leg in 4 places half back flank. Ball kicker. lacks endurance to be mid. Ranking 34.

Maibaum. Short solid stopper kpd. Quigley Ranking 41.

That's not a phantom draft but a talent ranking.

Re Parfitt, his championship form has been put down by some knowledgeable watchers to poor handling by the coach.

True, but it should work that way. What have we learned?

That the players let the systems down, and that they need to work harder to make sure they work to those systems perfectly.

Witherden's problem is no one has seen him this year so he gets talked down behind players with exposed form. But at the end of last year he was rated the best Geelong Falcons prospect.

Parfitt seems more of an Ainsworth size than a Sam Gray size to me, seems to play taller than a small midfielder. I'd be happy with him at 30/31.

Quigley also had Liam Sumner rated at 7, Kavanagh at 8, Sam Day at 2; while having guys like Devon Smith at 25, Isaac Smith at 26, Luke Parker at 31, Dalhaus at 44, and Tom Hickey at 49.

I rate Quigley, he knows his stuff and writes well but he's as prone to going along with group think and accepting others' opinions as much as all other draft watchers. He's hardly infallible.

The problem is we have not seen him. AFL clubs have seen him play about 5 games this year because they also get out to pre-season games. This idea that he is not a midfielder is something people need to get out of their head. Most bottom ages in the TAC cup play from a flank in there 17th year and then move into the mids in their 18th year.

14 seems like it could be anyone. Can't recall a draft where there were so many possibilities in R1, and maybe that's because of the concentration of mids and mid-like types this year. Is Powell-Pepper the next Jake Stringer ... or the next Andrew Moore? With all the risk/return, sliders, flight risks, injury-returners... would not surprise me if we went for a high risk/return option at 14 but bid on a "good at everything, not necessarily elite at much, workrate-driven, ready to play R1" genuine mid like Scheer at 17 and took that slightly conservative bias into our thinking at 30/31.

I rate Quigley, he knows his stuff and writes well but he's as prone to going along with group think and accepting others' opinions as much as all other draft watchers. He's hardly infallible.

To be fair Dalhaus went a lot later than 44. I would suggest he is one of the few that does not get caught in group think. We see players completely different and our ratings are always miles apart. He is the sort of guy I would want on my recruiting team other than his write ups are to long.
