Would we trade with the Bombers for the number 1 pick? More to the point, have we got anything.
ESSENDON is open to the possibility of trading its first-round draft selection in exchange for an experienced player or more picks at the draft table.
As it stands, the last-placed Bombers would receive the No.1 selection in this year's NAB AFL Draft.

Essendon would require a top 5 player in the AFL and a late first/early second for their pick 1. No club will satisfy that sort of trade. Not even worth talking about.

Quite a few big men who were highly rated at the start of the year have missed invite to the combine. WA's Goddard and Strndica and SA's Sweet and Ladhams. Would like one of the sa boys with a late or rookie pick.

No. Only reason it's on the table is there is no real standout.
Most teams would rather trade down for more picks so it is really the wrong year to look for a team to trade up. They will finish with the pick bar trading for an uncontracted player coming back to vic. Even GC will no longer have any interest in it.

We did look closely at Willie as a 18 year old. By accounts a terrific kid with great skills Just struggled with his weight as the only knock.

We are talking a back end pick or rookie spot but someone is going to pick Willie up. His defensive pressure gets talked up he has been going into the midfield at sanfl level and mostly he does hit the scoreboard which we haven't been getting from Jake.
