Agreed, if that's the bloke's highlight package he looks to be a rookie chance at best.
That rather extravagant ball drop, followed up by a helicopter kick wasn't exactly inspiring either.

The one that hits the point post from 30m out on a slight angle? No, not inspiring at all.

We'd be better off standing on Butcher's front lawn holding a boombox over our head blaring "Baby Come Back" into the night sky.

14.7 in the beep test is pretty good for an inside mid if we can find a pick low 20s

POS: Midfielder/half-forward, Ht 186cm, Wt 83kg, DOB 8/1/98
From East Perth/Western Australia

Powell-Pepper is all power and strength. He's a bull at stoppages, pushes past players at the clearances and gets the ball moving his team's way. His kicking has been questioned at different stages but he won the goalkicking test at the combine (he was the only player to get a perfect score) and backed it up athletically, running 14.7 in the beep test and third in the agility test (8.24 seconds). Powell-Pepper was probably Western Australia's most consistent player this season.

That "highlights" package looks like a stitch up. Terrible goal kicking, turnovers, taps to opposition advantage, who's putting this shit together?

Surely a guy in the frame to be drafted has better to show than all that.

That was literally all he did that day.

He kicked 8 goals in a TAC Cup earlier this year. I'd love to see highlights of that to see in which way he got all those goals.

I am not that fussed about him being an inside midfielder. A genuine midfielder is what i want. Not an outside mid though. Particularly not an outside mid in this draft. Galluci. Florent. Berry. Drew. Clarke and Atley off the top of my head although 9 is over paying for a lot of the but they should be all gone by 46. Assuming we cant get a pick inside 25 i would look at trading out 9 for something like 14 and 22. The problem is i want to keep 9.
Sydney looking to trade up in the draft by moving 14 and 17. missionpossible would you consider 9 for 14&17. Could then grab Berry and Powell-Pepper or similar.

I'd do next years first for those 2 but no way Sydney would as they think we are far to likely to climb up the ladder, resulting in them trading 14 and 17 this year for 14-18 next year.

I would strongly consider that trade. I'm just not sure moving from 14 to 9 would be enough for Sydney to do it though.

Usually in any draft if you've got a #9 pick you would expect it to be possible for any player expected to go 4-10 to slide. With the academies this is now a lot less likely and with up to 3 early academy picks we could get 11 or 12. Jack Scrimshaw looks a pretty tasty prospect as a 194 cm mid/def although he is still a bit skinny at 80kg(8 less than Ebert - who is 5 cm shorter).

The video package of Ratugolea is just all of his involvements in that particular televised game. It does not constitute a highlights package. This keeps coming up on here but would have thought it would have been fairly clear given the name of the video anyway.

I'm completely lost as to who we pick if a slider doesn't come our way.

Maybe florent or berry or Powell pepper, but it does feel like there is nothing from our pick to pick 20 If a slider doesn't fall to us.

I'm not confident in scrimshaw that early , I'm not confident in florent becoming a star , I'm not confident in any of them to be honest. I like florent though , and berry although not at all what we need might be the safest bet to become a 200 game player of some worth. I almost feel like Powell pepper or gallucci might be the best bets if we want to gamble on a player making it they both strike me as players who if they do put it together become big players that everyone thinks obviously should have gone earlier. Like hannerbury or Parker.

Letting a future second go last year was a mistake, we should have something to fall back on between 9 and 46. Picks that late do sometimes work but they tend to be the exception. Hopefully we can get a second for Ah Chee from GCS, it would possibly mean packaging our 46 to them as well.

I'd rather just keep pick 9, fret that we don't have a second rounder in a draft that would be great to have a second rounder in, and hopefully get one of these players:

Sam Petrevski-Seton (if he does indeed slide)
Tim Taranto
Ben Ainsworth
Daniel Venables
Jack Scrimshaw

That's the order I'd probably want them at the moment.

Yeah fair enough. Honestly I didn't take note of the title, I've only watched it on my phone so part of the title gets cut off.

Bad game though.

Yeah in this draft I would do that. I would still have reservations about doing that but I would. If we ended up with picks 14, 17 and 30 I think we get to add three quality kids to the group. Add Ryder and Monfries and some of this years players would have to pull their finger out if they want a game.

Sydney want to move higher up the draft for a reason. Would consider it if we haven't added to second and third rounds by the last day of trading. Florent and Berry both look good would hate to favour one of them and have them both gone at 14.
