When I think of Powell-Peppper I imagine a spectrum with Dustin Martin at one end and Nick Robertson at the other.

What I can't figure out is where in that spectrum he sits.

I honestly dont know what people see in him, sure hes got the flare in his agility and speed but hes nowhere near dusty in terms of field kicking ability.

What I try to keep in mind with U17/U18 players is that one year makes one hell of a difference! Have a good year, and players can race into the top-10 in a flash, and visa-versa, on a poor U18 year. Looking at Sam P-P, he looked explosive in U17, but with dismal awareness & disposal! He had this to say of this year...
"Another part of Powell-Pepper’s season that will have recruiters monitoring him closely in the lead-up to the draft was his performance for East Perth’s League team this year. He made his debut against Peel Thunder in round 20 and was named in East Perth’s best players after gathering 16 possessions, laying seven tackles and kicking a goal. He played a further four games, and credits his time with the senior group. “In that short period of time, playing the senior games I reckon it has improved my disposal and my decision-making. Just being around the bigger bodies and AFL-listed players has helped me quite a bit,” he said.

So, it is worthwhile comparing the videos of his two years ... wow, is the difference not half noticeable! And it makes me think that if this guy can improve so much being exposed to the WAFL for East Perth, then what could he become playing for an AFL club! And with that haircut, and explosive run, comparing him to Dustin Martin is damned spot on!!!

Add to that he is rated as a "hard inside-mid" ...... Isn't that everything we are looking for?

Well that video has much better highlights on him. He has a real burst of speed and side step. Skills looked cleaner too. What is his inside game like?

I feel kind of dirty after venturing onto richmond's website. Kind of like when you go to a public toilet and have to put toilet paper on the seat. Well i quite like him looking at these vids. He has a long leg on him too

Powell-Pepper seems to rely a lot on other players' mistakes. Didn't notice him get one hard ball in those highlights. Didn't see him take many marks either. He is a loose ball crumber with good speed and ball handling skills. He is the sort of player who could be icing on the cake for a club with a first rate midfield and talls in attack. Powell-Pepper is not a 'must have' type and those are the players who should get priority so I would not use 14 or 17 on him but if he is still there at 30 and 31 I would consider him.

You don't often see inside mid work in a highlights package mate. Powell Pepper has the potential to be the clear best player in this draft. I would absolutely take him at 14, but I don't think he will be there still unfortunately.

He would put the wind up a lot of players with that straight line attack on the ball. Fair pace too. He looks the strong-bodied self-assured type who could play from round 1.

Hayward is also clean at ground level and provides heavy scoreboard impact.

Who they'll pick: Alex Villis
Why he goes here: Villis, a 182cm, 70kg outside player, is one of the more reliable ball users in this year's draft. He uses it well on both sides of the body, makes good decisions with ball in hand and would be a suitable list fit for Port Adelaide on a wing or coming out of defence.

Who they'll pick: Myles Poholke
Why he goes here: Poholke at 184cm, 84kg is a strong-bodied utility who can play through the midfield or at either end. He is a strong contested-ball winner who tackles with intensity and is a strong mark overhead.
