I feel some creativity in me waters..

What does this mean.

I'm hoping we put lobbe on the table , and if young and Oshea don't want to re-sign then look to get value for them.

I would seriously consider putting carlile on the table if he gets us a mid 2nd rounder or better. Plenty of contending teams are very shallow for fbs.

Need to put some young mids on our list as the only genuine mids we have on our list 22 and under are

Ahchee , Toumpas , wines and wingard. Maybe Amon , hoon Johnson and Snelling as prospects.

If we can turn lobbe , one of Oshea/ young and carlile into 3 picks inside the top 35 at the draft with our first I would be happy.

Carlile wont get you a pack of chewies. I think if the season plays out the way it looks (no finals), some tough calls need to be made. I obv would say untradeable are Boak, Wines, R Gray, Pittard, Wingard, Polec. Add in Dixon or Ryder wont be traded. Anyone else, if the price is right, it must be looked at. That includes, Broadbent, Hartlett, Trengove, Impey etc

Sounds like our first rounder will be worth a lot more to a club like GWS than it is to us. See what we can get.

No way. We desperately need mids or a Schulz replacement.

Plenty of good mids this year mcluggage , Scharenberg , Powell-pepper , Brodie or josh battle as a Schulz replacement. Also plenty of mids could be available mid draft.

there's a few interesting father-son prospects this year:

  • Josh Daicos, son of the Macedonian Marvel Peter, safe assumption he'll go to Collingwood or their supporters will squeal like stuck pigs
  • Callum Brown, son of Gavin, also safe assumption he'll join Collingwood
  • Zane Sumich, son of Peter, probably going to West Coast
  • Jake Waterman, son of Chris and brother of Alec, likely to join West Coast
  • Michael Romero, son of Jose, good chance to join the Bulldogs
  • James Sziller, son of Steven, eligible for St. Kilda, but a long shot at this stage
  • Matthew Neagle, son of Merv, eligible for Essendon, but not too sure if he'll join them
  • Bailey Lambert, son of Craig, this is an interesting one, he's eligible for Richmond, Brisbane (not as father-son, Craig only played 96 games, but as a member of their Academy) and possibly GWS (he was in the Giants Academy when his dad worked there)
  • Ben Jarman, son of Darren, eligible to join Hawthorn or Adelaide, but I think he'll probably join the Crows as their first ever father-son pick
  • Kye Beveridge, son of Bulldogs coach Luke, who played at three different clubs (Melbourne, Footscray, St. Kilda), but is not eligible for any of them
  • Beau Moorcroft, son of Gary "Greatest Mark Ever", not eligible for Essendon as Gary only played 95 games there, probably come into consideration for the Bombers

Only seen the WA boys out of that lot, but think West Coast will be getting a damn good one in Waterman. Would think they'll be using a late first or early second round pick to keep their hands on him.

It will be fascinating to see how the bids for the father/son goes especially with Collingwood with two players: Brown and Daicos - didn't they give away this years first round pick to GWS?

I dont think brown and daicos will end up in the top thirty prospects which will make things easier for Collingwood regarding the bids.

If the kid was a gun it would've been worth drafting Moorcroft Senior and sitting him on the bench for 5 games.

I think he means Essendon drafting him this year...
the way it has been put implies that it would have been worth it for US to get Snr Moorcroft and play him for 5 games

that is the way i see it, not saying it is correct, but it is the way i have read it

I meant Essendon. Not sure us playing a 40 year old Moorcroft every game for the next 4-5 years to FS draft his by then 22 year old son would really work out.

As for Aaron Young he has probably been our best small forward this year, Wingard included. Maybe that builds his trade value up and is a positive in the market place?

Yes but he is now of value to us so won't be traded. We have an average list with no surplus players of value except may be O'Shea to a team like the Saints.

We should re sign him if he can keep his form up until the end of the season. Maybe on a one or two year deal
