Only 4 million days to draft day. I want lots of picks... carn.

I've said this before without justification and will say it again. Venables will be the best player in the draft. .. By a space.

It's the vibe.

What type of player is he and will he be available at our pick?

Would Essendon go Mccluggage though?

The road to the draft pod revealed Essendon applied to the AFL to have Brodie play in their VFL side in the latter half of this season. Surely that implies interest at pick 1?

McCluggage will be pick 1.

Yeah and I will play the same game

Boak and Gray are 28, we only have one other quality mid in Wines and you need 5-6 quality mids.

Give me Lockett and Ablett in the forward line and it will mean shite if the ball not getting down there. Good quality mids to be had this year and good quality talls to be had next year.

I would suggest Ebert and Polec are both quality mids. Hartlett is IMO a quality mid (and currently still on our list despite the rumours). We have Sam Gray, Snelling & Ah Chee as fringe/depth players.

Our first pick should definately go to the best mid available, but if we get a second first round pick (for Hartlett) id like to see us take a talented key forward.

Poor mans Dangerfield at this point. Doesn't get enough of it, but what he does is all quality.

Has a really strong core and is able to shrug off/break tackles and explode out of congestion.

I would not be disappointed if we took him.

I read that Darling was highly rated but had question marks about his attitude, sort of like the same reasons buddy slipped to hawks when they rated him the best talent in the draft.

Darling was rated the #1 pick as a 16yo. He had some off field indiscretions - got expelled from his school and from memory he was in a fight and got king hit as well. On field, he didn't grow as much as expected and clubs were concerned that at 191cm he'd be too small to be a key forward and that he wasn't agile enough to be a flanker or midfielder. This, along with some pretty frank and confronting chats to some clubs at draft combine saw him drop down the list.

He's Patrick Dangerfield.

He hasn't had a huge amount of exposure because he has been playing mainly school football. He is a bottom ager. He was injured for most of last year and was choosing between football and cricket. His family has a lot of serious football in it.

He just looks like he has it. (whatever it is) He stands up in big moments. He can play forward. He is damaging. He can't be tackled (not in a i am bigger and stronger than everyone but soon i will be luke tapscott kind of way). He frees his hands. He has strength and explosiveness.

He is Dangerfield.(with a bit of Dustin Martin)

He doesn't get massive numbers or had a huge amount of exposure but at this stage he doesn't need to.

Most people seem to have him 10-15.

There's about four things in one game where you just go wow! I don't go wow very often watching afl players. Pretty much 1.10 onwards is just wow.

He could end up being a bargain pick up for someone. Wouldnt mind having a crack, especially being a bottom ager.

He has the raw potential to be the best player in the draft if he puts it all together. He's not a bottom ager though, he is eligible this year.

If Essendon pick McLuggage there is every chance that Brodie slides. Brisbane no guarantee to pick him. It could as an example look like:

Ess 1. McLuggage
Bris 2. Bowes bid > GC 2. Bowes
Bris 3. Ainsworth
Fre 4. English
Car 5. McGrath
Rich 6. Setterfield bid > GWS 6. Setterfield
Rich 7. Marshall
GC 8. Brodie/SPS
PA 9. SPS/Brodie
Brisbane have Hanley, Zorko, Christensen, and Mayes as those outside players. Surely they'll want to pick the big bodied mid to help Rockliff in the guts.

They've also got Mathieson, Bell and Robinson to help in that area, as well as Keays who should continue to develop.

I'm having flashbacks to Tredrea when I read about English. Both were midfielders until growth spurts put them into different categories as a key forward/ruckman respectively. If the recruiters think he can be more of a key forward than a ruck, it could be an inspired choice.

If either of Brodie or sps are available at pick 9 I'll be stoked
