Yeah he's listed for the draft. He's around 200cm.
He's got intrest from multiple clubs
Tell him to do a 'drunken' call to every other clubs recruiting manager. They've all enough talls, there ours, all ours.

I'm sitting next to my AFL late-round chance for the next 1 3/4 hours if anyone wants to ask him a question

He's a good pick up but the upper body strength the ability to go one on one seems a long way off. That particular game Ken was talking notes there's a fair chance he was taking notes on a dozen players and then some there were some quality players going around.

i know Ken wants Marshall, but i cant actually see him getting past Fremantle (if they dont take English)

Freo have 2 KPFs on their list at the moment (Taberner and Apeness) and will lose 2 other forwards (Mayne and Ballantyne), one who can play tall.

We have a better chance of getting Battle or Kerr with our 2nd (if we get one) or our 3rd than getting Marshall with our 1st

Por que no las dos?

With Trengove, Hombsch, Austin and Clurey as talls, Pittard, DBJ, Bonner and Broadbent as smalls and Jonas who can play either role, we're pretty much set for defenders for the next 5 years.

With Wingard, Young, Impey as best 22 players and Amon, Palmer, Neade, Houston and Johnson as depth (potentially with Luke Reynolds to come as a rookie pick) we don't lack for young small/medium forward options either.

People complain about our midfield stocks, but just wait and see how they improve when Paddy Ryder is back in the side. That same midfield (minus Wines and Polec) pantsed the reigning premiers away late last year with Ryder providing them with silver service. The talent is there.

Ruck stocks look a bit light, particularly if we trade away Lobbe which we absolutely should, but you can always trade in rucks if and when you need them.

And then there's KPF stocks. Dixon (quality player but has never played a full season), Howard (talented but big question marks over how he comes back from the ACL), then nobody. We desperately, desperately need to restock.

As Portia always says, you can't just draft one KPF and think you've solved the problem. We did that with Butch back in 2009 and look where it's gotten us. I'm not necessarily sold on Kerr, but if Marshall is available at our first pick and Battle is available at our second pick, I absolutely hope we take them both. And I hope we redraft Mason Shaw later on too if possible.

The other thing to consider is that if we are going for a rebuild, you want to have your KPP's set first before you worry about your mids. KPP's take longer to develop, so if you want a group of players peaking at the same time, it makes sense to get the talls first.

Spot on. We need to draft a young tall forward (Marshall), a Jack Darling/Stringer like forward and, if possible, a ruckman (draft or traded from another club).

If we could get Marshall, Battle and beastly ruckman in the mould of Mumford or Grundy...well I'd be one happy campaigner.

I'd prefer Battle or Kerr TBH.

Both have been playing really well and (both were named on the field in the TAC cup team of the year)

Absolutely spot on champ imo

That's way too simplified. Taking talls just cos we need talls, regardless of talent level is insane.

This year's draft is deep in midfielders, so to pass on those midfielders for talls in a draft where the talls aren't particularly rated is silly, especially when next year's draft looks great for depth of talls. It's just one year difference. Taking a tall this year and one next year - how is that worse than taking two talls this year? The one year difference is that huge?

We take best available, as simple as that. If Todd Marshall is there at our pick, sure, but it's painfully obvious we need midfielders. Robbie and Trav are fast approaching 30. In terms of young star midfielders, only Wines (inside) and Polec (outside) seem to be chances of that on our list. The rest are flankers or unknowns. We haven't picked a mid in the first round since Ollie, and this a deep midfielder draft.

There are so many more factors than just we need key forwards so let's draft a bunch. Especially with how our team seems to approach developing them anyway.
