I am not that fussed about him being an inside midfielder. A genuine midfielder is what i want. Not an outside mid though. Particularly not an outside mid in this draft. Galluci. Florent. Berry. Drew. Clarke and Atley off the top of my head although 9 is over paying for a lot of the but they should be all gone by 46. Assuming we cant get a pick inside 25 i would look at trading out 9 for something like 14 and 22. The problem is i want to keep 9.

I wouldn't be giving up 9 this draft considering the evenness of the first 12 or so picks.

I don't know these guys but you can fill in the names.

Pick 9 : Best midfielder available with speed and excellent kicking skills - preferably outside
if we can trade our way to a 2nd round pick : Bull inside mid that will play games in 2017 - looking for a work horse - better foot skills and speed would be good not essential.
Pick 48 - Hoping for a slider or Ben Jarman but if not a 205cm ruckman a guy who can be big enough to compete with the biggest ruckmen
Pick 66 - Best available

For Pick 48 we'd need a forward/ruck to compliment Frampton rather than another ruck.

Not too many rated ruckman in this draft have of course english and lynch then it drops right down. Olango has good leap and speed. Ladhams draws comparison to lobbe; he was rated earlier but he normally wins taps and nothing else. Sweet is already a behemoth forgot the knock on him dont think he takes enough marks for a man of his size but he is a big boy

I forgot Powell-Pepper and Poholke. To be honest I would not go off my rocker if we took Poholke at 9 assuming the super 6 are gone

Who are the super 6? or is it a secret?

Ladhams is actually very good around the ground. Averaged 15 touches and around 3.5 marks a game in the U18s for Norwood. Also kicked 17 goals in 14 games across the U18s & reserves this year so he can hit the scoreboard as well. He is a bit of a plodder, but has good tap work, finds teammates and has good endurance. For a 3rd/4th rounder he'd be worth a shout.

If we could wrangle Darcy and Olango with late picks that would give us some solid ruck depth. Both raw and need lots of work.

Olango the athlete with a great jump and speed. I wonder if he could play as a KPF/KPD?

Darcy is a bit of a Mumford type but has no tank.

Darcy is the best tap ruckman in the draft but damn kid, get yourself in shape! Weighed in at 110kg at draft combine. Had the biggest skinfolds ever recorded. 2nd worst beep test. He's got talent but he needs to be more than just a fat tall kid.

Sounds perfect for the Burgess Ethiopian Runner Fitness Program :)

What beep test score was it

I would actually be quite happy with a number of the late draft ruck options. I would back our full time recruiters to make the right call here as I see so many options as being very similar.

Personally, I like what I've seen of Jordan Sweet. Great size and a solid all round game.

Dean Cox literally couldn't run 400m when he first rocked up at West Coast and became one of the most athletic ruckmen of all time.

That running goal he kicked in the first quarter of the 2005 grand final was incredible.

*more reminiscing than making a point here

Berry for me starts on a back flank and becomes a centre square mid in 2-3 years time. Height, endurance, great kick, good speed. He'll play 250 AFL games.

The consistent opinion of Berry is his leadership quality.

Definitely a player with some scope for development.

when macca said second worst beep test , not worst by the length of the Flemington straight. My 11 year old does better than 7.0
Well i thought of eight and you said to lower it by one

I also bet your 11 year old isn't 110kg and built like a brick shit house
