Sydney want to move higher up the draft for a reason. Would consider it if we haven't added to second and third rounds by the last day of trading. Florent and Berry both look good would hate to favour one of them and have them both gone at 14.

We all want to move up the draft order.

Florent v Powell-Pepper and Galluci

Berry v Venables and Logue

Interesting that Twomey does not have any of Clarke, Atley and Drew in the top 30. But then again he has Cedric Cox in the top 30

Yeah fair enough. Honestly I didn't take note of the title, I've only watched it on my phone so part of the title gets cut off.

Bad game though.

Agreed, I think he looks miles off based on that game. Whilst admittedly I didn't see any of the games at TAC level he dominated I just haven't seen anything from him that backs him up as a realistic prospect.

Will our recruiters be awake on draft day or will they do a trade week and forget that it's on?

Then again, as we have a top 4 list we do not need to trade nor draft anyone.

Yeah not on that vision, but like Macca19 suggested it would still be interesting to see the video of his 8 goal effort. Although considering our recent track record with young KPFs we're probably not the club for him.

you know we are going to get Witherden though

Wouldn't knock that just not in the first round. We do a deal with Sydney and end up with Witherden and Simpkin from those picks it could be a pretty good result Both look to be making a good recovery both could be playing AFL by the end of the 2017.

Is also the last time we trade a second round pick out.

At least we didn't trade out the first round pick

i think SPS could be a slider and Brodie could side from 5-10.
While there is an prospect of these two sliding, it's s firm "no" from me to trading 9 for two lower picks.

More interested in using Ah Chee to upgrade from 9 to 6 or even just to 8!

I am really starting to like Shai bolton the more i see of him. Breaks the lines but can still win the ball. Admitadly highlight piece can be deceiving but watching the under 18 all stars match he was the one that stood out for me. Where does everyone thinl he will go? Surely top 20?

Whoops edited to his actual name of shai

Who are we odds on to draft with pick 9
A slider from the top 7 midfielders- McCluggage, McGrath, SPS, Brodie, Ainsworth, Bowes and Taranto- in my dreams SPS. Most likely to slide- Taranto.

If we get Taranto with 9...Wingard draft 2.0

So GWS have traded pick 7 up to 3 with Freo, now up to 2 with Brisbane. Will they use that on one of their academy kids and if so which one is rated 2nd in the draft, or are they just accumulating pts to be used to bid for 2 or 3 other players?

No traded up to get McGrath who they are keen on to replace shaw

They have moved up specifically so they don't have to use it on one of their academy kids. This way they get an elite player in the open market as well as any academy kids they want.

You guys answered part of what I meant but didn't write down ie if they don't use it on an academy kid, they go after the legitimate #2, but I was mixing it up with the minor picks from Brisbane in the trade ie
Brisbane have traded picks 2, 31, 51 and 60 to GWS for picks 3 & 16.

So as they also have picks 15 and 31 I assume that will be used to get a top 10 player from their academy academy kids, because if my calculations are right, with the 20% discount, it will allow them to get pick 4 and also could get pick 3 and have to find 86pts from another pick if they use 15 and 31 on that kid.

This is the way it is panning out-

#1 ES McCluggage
#2 GWS McGrath
#3 BL [Bowes] SPS
#4 GC Bowes
#5 RI Brodie
#6 CA to GWS Marshall
#7 FR English
#8 GC Ainsworth
#9 PA Taranto

Logic-

GWS traded up specifically to get McGrath
FR traded down because who they really wanted would be available at 7. This can only be English.
RI need a big bodied mid who is better than Moore
GWS bound to get #6 for Marchbank and/or Pickett and use it on a key forward or back. They will get more mids from their academy (Setterfield, Perryman). If they really want a tall back they go for Louge.

So we get a slider.
