This is the way it is panning out-

#1 ES McCluggage
#2 GWS McGrath
#3 BL [Bowes] SPS
#4 GC Bowes
#5 RI Brodie
#6 CA to GWS Marshall
#7 FR English
#8 GC Ainsworth
#9 PA Taranto

Logic-

GWS traded up specifically to get McGrath
FR traded down because who they really wanted would be available at 7. This can only be English.
RI need a big bodied mid who is better than Moore
GWS bound to get #6 for Marchbank and/or Pickett and use it on a key forward or back. They will get more mids from their academy (Setterfield, Perryman). If they really want a tall back they go for Louge.

So we get a slider.

GWS are not going to pick Marshall with 6. We'll miss out on the 1st tier of the draft by a pick

Dont think berry is similar to bonner if anything scrimshaw is more similar to bonner in their kicking, defensively positioning. Scrim has better scope for midfield and lateral movement

Berry is different to them; better around the ground due to his tank and can play multiple roles. Good kick in space but not that well under pressure scrim and bonner better in this degree. Berry is pretty courageous aswell better contested ball winning ability then the both. Id be good with berry as the next tier after that top 8 branch of picks

Battle looks to still be there at 20. Lions have pick 21 and they need a small forward with good defensive skills.[emoji848]

Venables may slide to late first or early second. He would suit us well.

Florent looks solid but with enough knocks that he may slide into late teens.

In terms of forwards and rucks, either you take English and Marshall earlier or you grab someone late. Kerr, Sproule and Battle are solid but not sure how well that translates to AFL.

if CD pulls off a miracle and convinces Sydney to trade Picks 14 and 17 to us for Pick 9, who should we go with in that instance?
I would hate this. Would then have to watch Sydney pick up the slider we really need. We need quality not quantity.

Good article on a pile of SA talent.

Having previously played across half-back, Norwood used the 196cm Carter as a key forward this year.

An exciting outside midfielder who models his game on West Coast's Andrew Gaff.

I want Berry.

i wouldnt mind him at our pick aswell.

Sidenote i wouldn't mind us drafting a mature aged ruckman/forward either or if we lose lobbe, vardy goes to west coast. West coast are linked to a heap of ruckman. Probably won't redraft shaw or another 80kg ruckman who won't do much if our current ruck stocks fall next year. Darcy Cameron is intriguing; very good hands, strong, good tap, has played wafl league level, good skills he's just slow. A classic ruckman/goalsquare full forward. Talls are slim pickings this year
