I think one of Marshall or Battle will still be there at 30 or 31. Most probably battle will be the one still there. I think we should be going for the 2 best mids with our first 2 picks unless logue is still available, and our next 2 shoudl go to Battle, and either Zac Fisher, Clarke or Atley, personally i really like Zac Fisher

Snoop Dog's Phantom has us taking Hayward, Marshall, Poholke and Clarke. I'd be over the moon with that haul (although if I was being nitpicky I'd probably go Drew over Poholke).

The value of Venables, Simpkin or Hayward as picks increases IMO if they are complemented by getting guys like Drew or Clarke later in the draft.
Exactly right. We need to draft a group of players who will complement each other.

Id love to see some of our later potential pick ups and see where they would have been considered at drafts of previous years. Ie grab last year's draft phantoms and include the likes of atley etc in there

With all and sundry throwing up about 20 different names we'd be happy with taking with our first four picks, I assume the Negative Nancy's are coming around to our recent trading strategy?

That would almost be a perfect draft IMO - especially if it was Drew instead of Poholke. I do definitely rate Hayward, but I still wonder if maybe we can pick better based on needs though? Think he could get lost in the ressies for a while for lack of opportunity.

Wont be happy if we pick Witherden and Galluci/Battle who Cal links us to
I very much expect from the highlights videos that we'd be heavily into Gallucci with 14 or 17. Potential wise he looks a top 10-12 pick, but after more research it looks like his consistency is an issue, so they'll either think they can turn that around or they'll allow that to worry us out of picking him.

i know it's only highlights, & i don't really think we need him but luke ryan looks like a really good. would be a decent late pick

I think i've settled on my best case scenario draft:

14: SPP
17: Marshall
30: Atley
31: Poholke
85: Dundon

Rookie:
1st: Bedford
2nd: Shaw

I don't think SPP is even a remote chance to still be there at 30.

We get him at 14 or 17 or not at all.

14 & 17 might be early for SPP but agree it's unlikely he drops to our 2nd picks.

Mid year I was keen on Drew with our first pick and if we can now grab him with our fourth pick adding to a couple of mids and a tall then happy days.

Twomey actually has good form the laast few years predicting players going to clubs from the 20 and under range; he has us interested in marshall, battle, withderden and galluci nothing new there. I think the mix would be marshall/galluci or witherden/battle. More likely the former than latter Rationale; we dont hint at "ready made players" and pick up both two development types in marshall and witherden; unless trollec has gotten into the ear of some people; and valued midfield outside run and ball use is arguably a bigge rneed than a third tall. I wouldnt mind the marshall galluci mix at 14/17.

As for our later picks we've been strongly linked to dylan clarke as for the the other pick we'll probably get a smokey like liam ryan or mitch hinge

Not if Brodie goes between 9 - 14. If that doesn't happen then I will be on board with the strategy.

I'd still think it would really benefit us to take one of the taller utility types, particularly Macreadie who I quite like or even a Himmelberg or Allison.
We rely a lot on Westhoff to plug gaps and he won't be around for too much longer and having someone with the height to be a genuine marking target plus the running to play proper midfield defence will help us a fair bit.

You'll need to ask this question in September when we know which pick between 1 and 18 we gave up to facilitate it.

According to Twomey's latest top 30 Hayward is slipping down. He was being touted as top 10 at one point but Twomey has him at 18 now. He has Scrimshaw at 10 and there is always the possibility of a further slide. I would be quite pleased if with our first two picks we took one of Berry or Scrimshaw and one of Marshall or Hayward. For our 30s picks I would hope we can get Sam Powell-Pepper (who would be convinced by Jasper to change his name to Sam Pepper) and Patrick Kerr.
Although, as always, there may be changes on the night. If somehow both Berry and Scrimshaw are available to us I would prefer the club to pick them both up and rely on Kerr falling to us at the 30s. And if that was not the case then a tall forward could be picked up with a late pick in Esava Ratugolea, Mitch McCarthy, Nick Larkey, Jack Henry, Toby Pink or Declan Keity.

Eh, screw it. I'll do mine:

14: Simpkin
17: Venables
30: Drew
31: Scharenberg

Rookie:
1st: Narkle
2nd: Ladhams/Comitogianni

Edit: Put Ladhams in if he's there.
