I think if we wrote down our favourite top 10 potential players and end up with at least two from the list then we should have no complaints. I think we should be pleased come tomorrow evening barring any stupid leftfield picks.

For me it's;

Simpkin, Gallucci, SPP, Venables, Berry, Florent, Venables, Witherden, Hayward, Marshall (first two picks)

Battle, Bolton, Drew, Atley, Parfitt, Graham, Poholke, Scharenberg, Clarke, Cox (second two picks)

Yeah I agree with the first group except for Venables.

The second group I am probably a lot narrower on with Drew, Atley, Poholke, Clarke, Kerr, Fisher (Villis would have been in this group)

Bolton playes like a quick outside footballer but he is not actually that quick.
Partiff obviously better than I have seen but what I have seen is not even close to being drafted.
C.Cox (I assume), a 19yo who struggles to find the ball in the TAC cup, rookie material because of his x factor.

Wildcard that I would be happy to take at 30/31 Bunker

Warming up to the idea of Ben being worth the last pick. We have to sincere about it though, it's only fun if he makes a career at Port.

I listened to SEN the other day when they interviewed Perryman, fair to say as a player I want him as a team mate, he is a card. Best interview I have heard since Rory Sloane at Draft Camp.

Myles Poholke sounds impressive as well

So word is we thinking of bidding on issac Cumming and Scheer

Cumming not a need. Would take Scheer in the 30's though, although I'm sure GC would match.

Any chance that GWS don't pay the Perryman and he gets to us?

If we do that, I'm completely tuning out from footy for the summer. After melting of course.

Who are you melting over?

A 204 cm agile ruck/forward clearly the best of his class when we have 3 rucks on our list?

A 187 cm forward mid who kicked 9 goals in a prelim and 4 in the GF?

The best clearance player at the national champs who had about 10 more clearances than anyone else even though the champs and this draft is supposedly stacked with clearance machines?

An inside mid who is so good he won Nightcliff's Senior A-Grade B&F at 16, debuted in the SANFL at 16 and was in his teams best on debut?

Seriously, if you're going to melt at that based probably on a few highlights and reading what others who watch a few highlights think, you have a problem.

English is a risk i personally wouldnt take in the first round.

Im not sold on Hayward in first round either although i readily admit my assesment is flawed in that its based on Hayward the 186cm Forward, not Hayward the midfielder/forward as i havent seen enough of him in the middle to assess his scope there.

Such a polarising draft :)

Brett Anderson has us taking Marshall Witherden Clarke Mutch
Take Witherden at 14 as lions shouldn't take Marshall as they have plenty of talls leaving Marshall for us at 17. The other way around leaves Witherden free for lions. I like Witherden and at ok with him as our 1st pick at 14.

Would love Simpkin but he appears a cert to be gone before 14.

Would be very happy if we went:
14 - Witherden
17 - Marshall
30/31 - 2 of Drew/Poholke/Mutch/Atley/Clarke in that order of preference

Do like SPP for the first pick, but think there could be huge upside with Witherden and given we can hopefully cover the mids with 30/31 it's a nicely "calculated" risk. I'd be fine but not overly excited with Galucci or Berry there, too.

Really getting keen on the idea of Marshall at 17, too. Fits on need, is a great talent but pick 17 also matches the slight risk on him too. Don't want English, we need someone that can really command in the air, also why I'm not keen on Battle. Macreadie would probably be my next choice and hope he doesn't get matched at 17.

Drew and Poholke seem to be getting more talked about in the last few weeks so expecting them both to be gone mid 20s, but Mutch and Atley could be a really good combo in the middle.

Failing to get both Marshall and Macreadie, wouldn't mind "reaching" for Drew at 17, then bidding on Allison with 30.

Knightmare has us taking English, Hayward, Clarke, Parfitt with our picks. I can only imagine the melts if that happens.

I'd have misgivings about English simply because of the knocks on his body strength and marking, but both can improve in a tall skinny kid. The other three I would be happy to draft.

I still expect Hayward to go earlier than our pick and we take Witherden and Marshall.

Later picks I expect Clarke to be one we will draft. I think Parfitt will be gone but would draft him if he was there.

Agree with your comments and list and having 2 of Venables (twins?) provides more options...lol
