Emma has Cumming (matched) and Hayward going to Adelaide so he may be off the table.

Also 50-50 on what Sydney would do with Simpkin v Brodie if both available.

Before anyone asks she hasn't posted whole draft yet just snippets.
Wow - if they start matching Cumming at pick 13, what does it mean for Perryman?

Gws matching a teens bid for Cunningham would really shake the draft up
Can't see it happening

I'd want him if he is worth a pick 80ish just so that in 2 years time the crowies demand of their club that they get him off us, and then the crows pay a Matthew Bode type premium to get him. That's why I'd draft him, bugger the LOLs
On the news tonight Port said they are looking at Ben Jarman... I wonder if they will pick him ..

Jimmy Toumpas will be pleased for some company on the 3k

I'd take Jarman because it's obvious he has ability and could easily become one of the best in the comp if he improved his physical side.

The Crers melts would just be a bonus.

Since the 2009 National Draft, the only guys we've drafted from SA onto the main list (ie. not rookie promotions) are Riley Bonner, Mitch Harvey & Chad Wingard.

Three in seven years.

Shit. I'm lulled into a false sense that we've drafted more. But then I thought about it and I was like "Broadbent and...Broadbent...and Broadbent" but as REH has said, we have bought in a lot of SA talent through trades. Could be that.

Jarman won the clean hands test at the draft combine didn't he ??
Thats more a cult of Nathan Buckley thing than anything particularly useful

How can gws match a bid at pick 5, 10 and 13.. surely that is way to much points needed

I thought the afl brought a new rule in to stop clubs getting more picks then they have list positions with the goal of loading up on points or something

GWS have 11 list spots open this year, so they've kept to the rules

So if they match pick 5 - they use 15 & 37 and receive 65 back.

If they match 10 - they use 39, 45, 52 & 55, and receive 62 back.

If they match 13 - they use all their remaining picks and go into deficit in the first round next year.

All their remaining list spots are then at the end of the draft.

Yeah the counter to that is not filling up your entire squad, I know Sydney had a vacant spot this year. Also bear in mind that now the points can overflow to the next year. If there's a team that doesn't have to stress too much about losing picks for the future year, it's GWS. They'll always be able to offload an underperforming first rounder for a decent pick.

Thanks Macca

will be interesting if they lose next years first rounder due to the drug saga.. surely that would carry on to the second round/first round in 2018

Thats a worrying thought for teams who might usually think its worth not drafting a kid in the main draft, but super keen as a rookie. Given we picked Logan/Dougal/Billy in similar circumstances I wonder if that might be how we use late ND picks.

So Emma has us picking up a defender and a forward with our first 2 picks while Sydney get Brodie..pfft

yeah, im not sure if she missed the interview where we stated we are ok for defenders but need midfielders and attacking players. So i dont think witherdenn fits the bill. Marshall is being called by quite a few now, so i think that one will happen.
