14 becomes 17 and we take Witherden and 17 becomes 19 and we Marshall. In her top 30 players she ranked Witherden at 16 and Marshall at 17.

reason, because we wont believe he is still available and will pull the trigger. Will still be there as i see wce taking English or Marshall with their pick. And crows will pounce on Hayward.

18 TODD MARSHALL - If the eagles dont take him then we will. We need a tall forward and i see us gambling here that he will fill out nicely. He wont get to our next picks, so i see us taking him here. If the eagles do swoop, then hopefully Venables gets through.

31 JACK GRAHAM

South Australian that will get his hands dirty. He may go sooner, but seeing as there are so many of similar value in the 20's, teams may lean towards players from their home state instead.

32 JOSH BATTLE

Another that i think will slide. Just isnt a glaring need kind of player due to his height, but i think is the kind of player we could use as the yang to dixon.

I don't dislike any of these players but I would find it really confusing that port regularly have been saying that this is a strong midfielders draft and we want midfielders, then proceed to draft 2 forwards, a defender and only 1 midfielder...

Berry and Graham are both midfielders (berry a future one) . Battle has a, huge tank and plays up the ground more. Over past two seasons we have delisted Butcher, Jay, Harvey and Shaw. We brought in Dixon, but we still need one more, this is why I think we need Marshall.

Had a listen, my opinion was based on Witherden being named a 'dashing defender'. I'll put my faith in missionpossible that he has midfield scope.

Since the 2009 National Draft, the only guys we've drafted from SA onto the main list (ie. not rookie promotions) are Riley Bonner, Mitch Harvey & Chad Wingard.

Three in seven years.

The downward spiral of the sanfl has contributed to that also i reckon

GWS have 11 list spots open this year, so they've kept to the rules

So if they match pick 5 - they use 15 & 37 and receive 65 back.

If they match 10 - they use 39, 45, 52 & 55, and receive 62 back.

If they match 13 - they use all their remaining picks and go into deficit in the first round next year.

All their remaining list spots are then at the end of the draft.

This would surely make Sproule available. Would you take at 30/31? Not much talk of him lately

Have read 6 media phantom drafts plus 6 from big footy.

Suspect we will have missed out on a potential elite on the pick we traded out but will get 2 great players (midfielder + key forward) with our first 2 picks.

Picks 3 + 4 will be solid prospects.

1. Witherden -pick 14 to make sure Lions don't get him
2. Gallucci - pick 17. Maybe a reach but he will complement what we do later, and brings the athletic prowess to our draft bounty

4. Poholke
